Shopping in Bangkok, entertainment in Bangkok
Friends, good evening! I have 2 questions for you:
1) where can you shop well in the capital? I am interested in the center (Bangkok Palace area) of the city, everything is interesting from shopping - shoes, clothes. And so that it is not very expensive, but of high quality, and not like in Pattaya))) Swimwear for 100 baht, of course, are good, but you need to buy them right away 10))))
2) I'm also interested in entertainment, but not this standard set - temples-rides on a night boat, but something else, something that has not yet been seen. Maybe one of you visited the "Ancient City"? Or Chinatown? Or something else? Please share!

Good things in Bangkok cost the same as in our homeland, minus the size.
Expanse for buying cheap junk - T-shirts, slippers, shorts, fit for one time.
In the center there is a whole block of shopping centers, the most significant of which is Siam Paragon. By the way, you can visit the Oceanarium there, it is really worth it. Paragon is expensive.
On the other side of this quarter between Indra Square and the Baiyoke Sky hotel is the Pratunam market, on the contrary, everything is cheap and scary there :) On Baiyoke Sky there is an observation deck with a bar and a restaurant (well, you probably already know this).
You can go to MBK, where the prices are average, the organization is stupid, but there are jewelry shops. What you should pay attention to - sapphires in silver. Sapphires in Tae are cool and cheap, they are normally set in silver. If the same in gold, it will be more expensive than ours.
People are still rummaging through some outlets, but here I won’t tell you anything - I never got there. I was in the outlet in Hua Hin - nothing interesting - the same shorts and T-shirts and pygmy sizes.
If you are not interested in temple boats, you can go to Muang Boran or Ayutthaya. Chinatown is the most ordinary, I liked it.

Pachok, thanks for your reply! I haven't been to Baiyoke Sky yet, I'm still going... Have you been for a long time? How much does it cost to visit with dinner? By the way: what floor is dinner on there? Much below the observation deck? ;)
Mueng Boran, I also watch everything ... according to the description - very interesting! You weren't there by any chance?

1. MVK Center - a seven-story shopping center, one of the largest and most visited in Bangkok. You can buy almost everything, from cheap T-shirts to exquisite furniture for the living room or bedroom. At the service of those who like to have fun and have a snack - an entertainment center on the 7th floor with a cinema and 40 alleys of a bowling center.
2. Siam Center - products of well-known European companies are presented here, as well as the latest novelties from local couturiers. Lots of stylish and quite expensive things.
3. World Trade Center - just a huge shopping complex, shops offering everything from souvenirs to jewelry made of precious stones, antiques and luxury cars. By the way, one of the best places to buy inexpensive high-quality clothes, household appliances, silk products. There is also a duty free shop here.
4. Siam Discovery Center - a very lively BKK shopping center with a state-of-the-art cinema located on the 6th-7th floors of the building.

Has the World Trade Center already been rebuilt and reopened?
darjam, I was in Bayok the year before last, just on the observation deck, without a restaurant. The ticket cost, I think, 200 baht and included any cocktail at the bar to choose from. Loved the bar, quality cocktails. It's good to go there at sunset to see the city both in daylight and under electric lighting.
I planned Muang Boran, read it and really wanted to, but it turned out that this year I had to cross out the BPC altogether from the plans because of the riots, we were there in the midst of it.

Where else to visit in Bangkok:
- Vimanmek Royal Mansion - the largest building in the world, built entirely of golden teak in 1900, under King Rama V. Now used as a museum.
- The Jim Thompson House is a Thai-style house that now houses the Silk Museum and a permanent exhibition of antiquities.
- Temple of Dawn - a temple famous for its 79-meter Pagoda, decorated with ceramic tiles and multi-colored porcelain.
- Wai Trai Mit - a temple where the Buddha statue is made of pure gold (the sculpture itself is about 3 meters high and 5.5 tons in weight).
- Wat Po - a temple complex, where there is a giant statue of the reclining Buddha decorated with shells (46 meters long, 15 - wide). This complex is considered the first university in Thailand.
- Safari World - a huge park (170 acres) near Bangkok with its own nursery of gibbons and parrots, a dolphinarium and fur seals (you can feed the animals).
