The islands of Thailand (like the rest, in general) is a song! Of course, everything is moderately civilized, but also exotic. The 7/11 chain of shops is everywhere, you can eat at any level, from a small eatery to a luxurious restaurant. Yes, and they arrange excursions in the jungle, temples are also available. Everything is more expensive than in Pattaya, of course, but the sea is worth something there!

Civilized. The hotels are good, the sea is clean, you can find entertainment. I did not feel the difference in prices for hotels, food, entertainment between PTT and Koh Samui. The only exception is transport. It turns out to be expensive on Koh Samui - a taxi driver mafia and tuk-tukers in a bunch with it, for 10-20 baht, as in PTT, you won’t go anywhere. There is no public transport. Car and bike rentals are not expensive.

It so happened that the first time we rested on Koh Samui Hotel Bandara Resort and Spa really liked it, and the second time we decided to see Phuket and were very pleased that Koh Samui was on the first trip. It's just that after Phuket Samui may seem like a small boring island, we really liked Samui and the hotel on the first trip, but now between Koh Samui and Phuket I will choose Phuket. You just have to see everything, and after a vacation on Koh Samui, I realized that I would definitely return to Thailand !!! I always take combined tours of Pattaya 6 nights in a 3 star hotel, this is the whole excursion, since the main holiday is on the islands. 6 nights skeleton and 3 days Bangkok Less than 14-18 nights it makes no sense even to fly, you won't have time for anything. . . . This is not Turkey or even Egypt. The tours are long and very interesting. And to leave almost without having time to go anywhere is very disappointing, because it is far and expensive to fly. Our meeting party was Sayama Travel, they have a website in Russian http://www. sayamatravel. com/ here you can see everything in more detail and choose a vacation :)

Phuket looks like a hybrid of Sochi and Pattaya. As for me, this is not an "island vacation".

I am more of a city tourist, I even look for hotels in cities on vacation, so that there is infrastructure outside the hotel, interesting places for independent walks. In this sense, I asked about Koh Samui. I don’t really like wild places, I want a reasonable combination. Is the sea on Koh Samui worth it to go without hesitation. in Pattaya, I didn’t want either the sea or walks - dirty water and air. Thanks for all the advice, it's always helpful :)

There are no cities on Koh Samui as such. There are small beach villages. All independent walks are not on them, but on nature - inland or around the islands around Koh Samui. Clean Air. Whether the sea is worth it to go without hesitation, I can’t answer you, because I don’t know which sea you like. Personally, I like cool, deep and transparent, this is definitely not there. Everywhere the water is very warm, in many places there are low tides (but you can also choose a beach with a deep sea), in terms of transparency it loses to all other seas that I have seen.

if you are a city tourist, then how can you not stop in Pattaya? After all, there is only one botanical garden, which is worth it!! And a garden of a million summer stones with a crocodile farm, a long-necked village and the famous Volkin Street, to be in Thailand and not to visit Pattaya? The main excursions come from Patai. And no one is forcing you to live in the center where there is dirt. . . For example, we lived in Wotani Beach, or rather spent the night between excursions. For example, an excursion to Cambodia was a 2-day excursion to the Kwai River, also two days, we took an avatar excursion inside us, too, for 2 days and did not swim on the beach in Patai. When I first went to Tai, I read excursions and decided that I wouldn’t go to temples, well, I don’t like churches, and when I arrived there and got to the Chinese temple on a sightseeing tour, I realized that I still want to see temples, only the mirror temple is worth a look in youtube video, in any case, your rest and the decision is yours. Thailand is a very interesting country and you can't see everything at once.

Wow! And in Phuket the whole island is a botanical garden! Patong is a very nice version of little Pattaya. I'm tired of the crowd - just take a few dozen steps, and calm. And the sea, frankly, is much more beautiful. And in general, this is the Indian Ocean ...
