The James Bond Islands are located in a completely different place in Thailand, namely in the Andaman Sea. Pattaya is located in the Gulf of Thailand. An accessible island from Pattaya is Ko Lan, this is for swimming, because the sea in Pattaya itself is dirty. Longer trips (for several days) to Koh Chang and Koh Samet are also possible, if the weather is normal.
Of the excursions that the child will surely like - Nong Nooch Park, Khao Kheo Zoo, Si Racha Tiger Zoo, crocodile, cobra farms, elephant villages - everything is at your discretion. There is also a large marine aquarium in Pattaya, but it is much inferior to the Bangkok Oceanarium in Siam Paragon. If you have time in Bangkok, go for sure.

with an 8-year-old you can already master "Kwai")
Rebzik should like elephant riding and river rafting)
We are flying in April with a two-year-old bird)
Everything that is written above is planned except for Bangkok, distant islands and Kwai)))

Just in case, for the future - James Bond Island is not at all interesting - tourists are left on it for 40 minutes, all covered with stalls with souvenirs, dirty and muddy water, you should not swim there - a couple of photos and a dreary waiting for the boat to go home

Tell me how extreme rafting on the river Kwai is. Who better to buy a tour. Is there any difference in the program. Advise what is worth and what is possible for a child to take from long trips, describe the program and what you should pay attention to when buying a tour.

I apologize for the mistakes I typed blindly, henceforth I will be more careful.

I understand that different companies have slightly different programs.
We bought a tour in the most ordinary street agency.
The only thing that was specifically stipulated was that there should be electricity in the hotel on the water))
Rafted down the river on small rafts (you can follow the raft on the water, you can on it)
riding on elephants
then again on a large raft with a motor, approximately in the middle of the way, the guide invited everyone to jump off the raft and swim downstream to the waterfall,
spent two hours near the waterfall
Bridge over the River Kwai
Cave
floating market
Dinner and overnight at the hotel on the water
On the second day, radon springs and some shops.
Maybe I forgot something, but the tour is very eventful.
And we got a knowledgeable guide
Rafting on the river is not at all extreme, the river is calm)) In addition, those who do not want to go into the water can also move on a raft

in general, I would like to go on this excursion in a small bus, but then, probably, there will be no Russian-speaking guide.

What are the conditions for living in a hotel on the water? I also met information that the rafts are rotten. I understood that we had dinner at a hotel on the water, but before dinner you can have a bite to eat somewhere. Does the tour price include dinner only?

Hello. Last year, in April, we purchased trips to Kwai from the street agency "Tina's Office", located next to the Family Mart supermarket, which is to the left of the hotel, at a cost of 2800 baht per person. The guide was a Russian woman, very competent answered any questions. Pick up from the hotel early at 5 o'clock in the morning, get breakfast at the reception (dry rations). They stopped for breakfast after 2 hours. The bus was refueled and the tourists ate in cafes that were located at the gas station. At lunch - buffet. Living conditions in a hotel on the water are excellent: double bed, toilet, ceiling fan, electricity - what else do you need in the jungle? The rafts are solid bases made of metal. After the rafting, they immediately offer a buffet with fruits - they didn’t eat everything. Then accommodation, signing up for massages or swimming in the pool. Dinner - buffet, no questions about feeding. If you want to drink drinks, including alcoholic drinks, they are available at the reception, but the price is high. In the morning breakfast, then further program, lunch and after that 3 hour drive to the hotel.

The same agency offers an excursion: Royal Adventures, almost an analogue of Kwai, according to reviews it’s cool, so the choice is large, it all depends on your desire.

With a child, it is interesting to visit a crocodile farm, a snake farm, Mini Siam (miniature park), go to the islands. I probably wouldn’t have gone to the River Kwai with an 8-year-old, it’s tiring. There, and except for the Kwai River, you can’t get around everything.

Which islands would you recommend visiting?
аватар Pachok
From Pattaya? Without options - Koh Lan. This is if you need to get up close and swim. There are tours to Koh Samet and Chang for longer.

Visited Koh Samet last year. Everything is fine, but it was possible to burn out very quickly, and with a child, control is double
