I hesitated in the same way ... In Phuket, the beach is closer, but more boring (Karon) than in Pattaya (Ko-Lan). The price level is higher. Good sea excursions (Bond, Phi Phi (went) - the nature is amazing. Krabi, Semilans, nature reserves - I haven’t been, but it would probably be worth going. Pattaya and Phuket are a completely different type of holiday. Pattaya is an active excursion, mixed with beach excursions, and Phuket is a passive beach one, mixed with sea excursions. Think about which one suits you best.
