from Pattaya to the islands
How to get to the nearest islands from Pattaya? How often do ferries run, from where, cost. How long does it take to sail on the ferry and what else can you get on? I heard that many people go to the islands to swim, because the sea in Pattaya is dirty. Our hotel is located in the southern part, on Jomtien (I hope I wrote it correctly), is it possible to sail directly from there to the islands or only from a certain pier in the center?

The ferry to Koh Larn runs from the central pier on schedule, it also hangs there. It costs 20 baht per person, travel time is 40 minutes. Upon arrival to the island, choose the beach and ride a tuk-tuk, it seems to cost 20 baht (I don’t remember, because I don’t use it, I always go to Tong Lang on foot)

Check out my story on Naklua Beach in Pattaya - it was in March - everything is relevant (honestly). There is enough detail on the ferry (I do not recommend it is a budget option for 30 baht, but the island where the worst sails) Speed bots or boats the most diverse, depending on the greed of the Thai and the power of the boat. If you are going from 4 to 10 people in a group, the conditions are very acceptable - 300 baht per person, not counting the children for the round trip, while the boat is waiting for you all day! And go when you want! Sometimes the sea is stormy, then of course you have to tick from the island early because the waves are serious

So then you write, not how much comes out of the forehead, but how much the Thai takes for the whole thing, because. he doesn’t care at all, four of you or 8 !!! (only the super wild will take on more). The smallest - agreed for 2000 baht. And if there are four of you, and you don’t know how to negotiate, and pay 3000, then it’s already 750 ... This, excuse me, is VERY expensive for Tai!

Thanks for the advice. The fact of the matter is that the three of us, me, husband and child, so all expenses are still from the family budget. Although, maybe we will find a company in the hotel to travel together. rozanovv, I read your story, it’s really very detailed about transport, special thanks for this.

Likaleo - so the three of us also traveled - our daughter is 8 years old with us. Read the review more carefully - it will come in handy for sure, since it reflects the rest of the family, budget, but despite this successful and unforgettable. We met the same couple with a child (the children became friends and they had fun) and rented a boat for 2 families - a small one for 2 thousand baht. And in total we spent 600 bucks in cash in 11 days, along with knitwear, and suitcases, we bought a cat there ( they are three times cheaper there than in Russia). The main thing is to try to find trouble-free fellow travelers in the hotel where you will live. Be sure to go to the fish market at the end of Naklua (final tuk tuk) but until 2 o'clock you will not regret it. You can cook in the Naklua Beach restaurant for 50 baht, even if you don't live there. If you are shy - there is a Thai cafe next to it - go there - they will also cook everything for you and pack it - I took crocodile fin soup for 30 baht.
