Thailand in July
I want to go to Thailand with a 9-year-old child in July 2011. I don't know what to choose - Phuket or Pattaya? Interested in excursions and the sea (In Pattaya, they say very dirty, do not enter). And Phuket is more expensive and there are few excursions. And another rainy season.... How to find the golden mean? Who was at this time???? Respond, you need help in choosing ... Or maybe you will advise hotels?

July is off season in Phuket. And it's not about the rain (which can go at any time anywhere in Thailand), but in the stormy sea. Many beaches are simply closed for swimming, many excursions are not taken, again, due to rough seas.
July is a great time to relax on Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan. Quiet clean sea, beaches for every taste, not much rain and not as hot as in spring. There are no excursions on Tao and Phangan, except for diving on Tao, there are few excursions on Koh Samui, but there are all the main ones - crocodiles, elephants, a small zoo, a couple of temples, several sea excursions around the islands.
I categorically do not recommend going to Pattaya with a child for a beach holiday. The maximum is to stop by for a couple of days for excursions and then escape to the islands :)))
I can write about the hotels and beaches of Koh Samui here if you decide to go there.

also wanted to recommend Koh Samui and certainly not Pattaya, if with a child.

There are quite a few excursions in Phuket, there are many of them, only Similans are closed in summer. In addition to Pattaya and Phuket, there are many other good resorts. Or are they only offered to you at home? (normally)

and I would recommend on the first visit to Thailand, after all, Pattaya for excursions of 10 days, and then for 5 days on Koh Chang to lie on the beach. Not far, not expensive and cozy. I will be in Pattaya, I can arrange everything.

What about Hua Hin or Cha-Am? What's in the middle of July?
