How to go to Tai just for the nature and not run into their sex industry?
The country likes nature, but categorically does not like such a component of it as the sex industry. Moreover, I do not want to see anything and no one in Tae except nature. Is it real? Where will he go? Mountains, forests, seas, historical monuments, yes. Noisy, crowded places, all kinds of shows, masquerades, massages, no. Thanks for answers.

Oh-oh-oh-oh! What a great question! :)
You should avoid Bangkok, even more so - Pattaya, in a way - Phuket.
Where there are historical monuments, there are almost always crowds of people. Where food is sold - too. Crowds of our and Chinese tourists trampled down many good, "wild" places before: (in which the Phi Phi Islands belong, for example.
Under your conditions, I would recommend the province of Krabi, Lanta, Lipe in the winter season. In the summer, most likely, Tao or Koh Phangan (only not on the days of fullmunparty and hafmunparty), or maybe the right beach on Koh Samui would also suit you ... for example, Maenam.
Many people like Chang, but I have not been there, I can not advise.
What is your goal - the beach and the sea, or all the same, excursions, zoos, etc.?
аватар hatinka
The sea is for my husband, the sea is a must! And I myself like to climb somewhere, look at the ruins of something from below, then climb up and look around ... I love trekking. I would agree to an easy lift or hike for the sake of beautiful views.
I have not been to exotic countries, therefore, it is quite possible that the fear of any creeping-biting living creatures, my ardor to climb somewhere will cool. Don't know)))
The goal is to see the country at its best. Especially its nature - and it's not just the sea. Such, you know, variable active-mattress rest.
I would like a region like this - beautiful, calm, without any muzhebabs, scorpions on a stick and other delights of "shocking Asia")))))))))
I don't know if this is possible
Thank you Packok. I google those words that you wrote to me. I will get acquainted)))
And the winter season is what you mean by our winter season. Or them?
аватар Pachok
I meant our seasons.
You can go to the north of the country from Bangkok, read about Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai - there are no "carrots", no crowds of organizational tourists, from there you can fly directly to Phuket by low-cost Air Asia, from where you can move to Lanta by the sea or to Krabi.
The province of Krabi, probably, itself can satisfy your requests - there are excellent beaches on the islands, nature reserves, and some temples, from there you can take boat trips around the islands, and the nature itself is very beautiful.
Also from Thailand there is an opportunity to fly or go to Cambodia, see Wat Arun, a unique temple complex (it has not yet been restored).
аватар Kitsune
According to Pachok, Fr. Chang is a great place. By the way, it is located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand. Not far from the same Cambodia. Cambodia is worth seeing.
More about. Phi Phi is also a chic and calm place.
about. Samui, Krabi province.
And be sure to visit the province of Chiang Mai.

It's very easy not to get into the sex industry. you just don't have to go there. After all, even in Pattaya, only on the first and second streets, and this is far from all of Pattaya and not even part of it. Choose a hotel away from these streets and your problem is solved. From Pattaya you can see zoos and historical sites, go to the islands, both near and far, such as Samet or Koh Chang. I will send you a personal link to my website, where all these tours on the main page have already been prepared and calculated. If you need a detailed consultation, write, I will try to make a program that will fully satisfy you and will not cost you a lot of money.
аватар hatinka
Amir1, thanks, I'll look at the link, but I myself make up the routes of my trips, sometimes I like it more than the trip itself)))
аватар Amir1
I think the advice in drawing up the route will not hurt you either. Or you might like it ready made. Contact.
аватар Russ2209
Based on your preferences, I would recommend a route:
- 2 days Bangkok (Temples, Oceanarium),
- 3-4 days Pattaya (after all, the Nong Nooch Botanical Garden is something - every time I come and walk there with pleasure), and there are enough other interesting places (without the sex industry).
- Koh chang for the rest of the period,
BUT MANDATORY either from Pattaya or from Koh Chang to go to Cambodia.
аватар Alfini
hatinka, keep in mind if you are still going to Pattaya - there is no normal sea. To plunge into more or less clear water, you need to sail on a boat from Pattaya for 40 minutes.
аватар Alfini
Mdya ... a person asks NOT for "noisy, crowded places", but he (she) is advised to Bangkok and Pattaya: (((
You can get to Cambodia (Phnom Penh) perfectly and inexpensively from Bangkok by AirAsia plane.
hatinka, Malaysia Are you interested? An interesting route can be muddied:
Bangkok - Phnom Penh - Siem Reap - Kuala Lumpur - Krabi - Bangkok. Islands with beautiful sea can be visited either in Malaysia or in Krabi, depending on the season.
аватар hatinka
No, no, Bangkok and Pattaya do not interest me so much that I would not even want to fly there ;-)
I don’t like flying at all and I’m afraid I would love to travel by car.
I would like to overcome the fear of a long flight, and only then think about whether it is worth using domestic flights. Well, something like that, then I myself will decide closer to the trip.
I do not dream about Tai, today I have a rather bad opinion about the country (because of the notoriety that you can’t get anywhere). Just Thai-boyany country, a lot of information, just make a route, more or less safe ... But! I certainly do not want to fly to Tai and periodically stumble upon their carnivals, brothels. I do not want to bypass all these places, find out where to go there, where not. I want a place where there will definitely be no brothels, dubious hotel services, etc. If all this is there, but I need to turn a blind eye to it, then I will actually think about whether it is worth flying there at all.
My husband wants to go to some exotic country, in Thailand there were not only lazy people (well, yes, I still), but the nature is good there, so I’m considering whether it’s worth flying or not ...
аватар Alfini
You have a somewhat biased view ... but I understand why :))
There are many places in Thailand where there are no brothels and carnivals. I would even say - in Tae MOST places without it. Skip Pattaya and Phuket, stay in Bangkok in a decent area, and you'll see a different Thailand than you want to avoid.
Regarding Bangkok - I would definitely advise you to visit it. Yes, the number of people there can strain, but the temple complexes and the Royal Palace are a must see.
Hotels in Thailand are good, clean.
I always rent a car - it's inexpensive, the roads are excellent, the cars themselves are in good condition, even those taken in small rentals, everything is strict with traffic rules. The main difficulty with unaccustomed - left-hand traffic. I practiced first on the islands, where there is less traffic, then I took a car in Hua Hin, everything is fine.
аватар Amir1
Who scared you so much? There will be even more of these brothels in Kyiv or Moscow. You just don't have to go to them. I recommend Pattaya only as a transshipment base where you can leave things. From here it is easiest to get to the islands and see the sights. The same Bangkok can be seen from here in a day for 1900 baht. There are no dubious services in the hotels. Just don't go to first and second street. That's all. For the first time, it will be enough for you to watch excursions in Pattaya, Koh Chang, Samet and Cambodia. It is not stressful, not expensive and without flights, which you are so afraid of. The rest you just can't do. For the second time, fly, for example, to Phuket and Koh Samui. On the third other places. Watching Thailand will be enough for you for many years. There are a lot of interesting places here. Excursions in Pattaya, Samet, Koh Chang and Cambodia cost only 799 dollars. per person with all transfers and accommodations. And no brothels. And renting a car yourself and driving somewhere will be more expensive and more dangerous. Yes, and tighter.
аватар Alfini
Why go from Bangkok to Pattaya, then from there to take an excursion to Bangkok ???
"Easiest way to get to the islands from here"
This, to put it mildly :) is not so. Except for Chang.
аватар Kitsune
So maybe you should go to Chiang Mai then? The cultural capital of Thailand and older than Bangkok. There are very good hotels, there are no noisy tourist areas. The best time is December-January (first half of February).
See hotels at www.booking.com
The only thing you have to fly to Bangkok, and from there to Chiang Mai. You can "Thai", but it's a little expensive, but you can buy cheap tickets on the site
AirAsia http://www.airasia.com/my/en/home.html, if you're lucky, you'll pay $100 for a round-trip ticket. It is possible by bus.
Or to Kuala Lumpur, and from there to Singapore (buses run) and to Tai (or rather, to the south of Tai). From KL (Pudurai Bus Station) to Thailand, the Konsortium bus (their website is www.kbes.com.my) also goes to Hat Yai. The cost is approx 450 baht. And from Hat Yai from the bus station you can get to Krabi for 160 baht.
In total, it takes 13 hours to go to Krabi. You can also get to Koh Samui from Hat Yai
You can also get from KL to Hat Yai by train.
Here is all the info - a very good site, so as not to paint http://www.seat61.com/Malaysia.htm
From KL you can also get to Chiang Mai by plane. On the same AirAsia website, a round trip ticket will cost $170.

Check out these options if you're that scared of Tai. and look at several countries at once.

the tourist didn't say he had a million dollars for the tour. Which Indonesia? Maybe even in Australia on the big barrier reef to wind up? Especially without the pretense. Recommend something real. So I advised a ready-made calculated tour of the islands and to Cambodia, which is easiest to do from Pattaya. It is not expensive, and most of all meets all the requirements of the tourist. And for the first visit to Thailand, it is enough.

a visit to the island of Koh Lan during your stay in Pattaya - as a gift.

Amir1, I don't buy tours. I already wrote
I will draw up the route myself, perhaps it will be very different from the Thai mastsi. I will take a villa, an apartment for 2-4 weeks. I will cook myself, if I break off, we will eat in some restaurants. But I need Thai cuisine for 2-3 trips to a restaurant, then I need "my" dishes. I'm not going to take guides, by the time of the trip I myself will know everything)))
Auto if possible.
And tours, hotels ... I don’t consider it in principle. Perhaps I will take some excursions, but this decision will be made exclusively on the spot.
An important fact is that I’m still thinking whether it’s worth flying there at all (my question is about this).
And if I decide what is worth, then I will make a route "for myself" and I will wait for a convenient moment and a cheap flight ;-)
I often prepare routes in advance, but then I can break right away. The main thing is to know what you want.

Amir1, what kind of intrusive advertising is that?! Do you know about this type of recreation as "savage"? So, we travel to Asian countries as savages. You know, it's so much cheaper. Tickets can be monitored and bought very inexpensive from Moscow to Bangkok, either to Sing or to KL. From KL, I wrote how to get to Tai (and where). You don't need millions for this. And it will be cheaper than buying your tour. You just need to think everything through.
Well, a person does not need Pattaya DO NOT NEED! Why so sticky something?!
Hotels can be booked through the same booking com (there are a lot of offers - for every taste and color).
These are the countries to which you need to go as SAVAGES, and NOT THROUGH A TRAVEL COMPANY!
аватар Kitsune
For example, if you buy a ticket from Bangkok to Chiang Mai by "Thais", then it will cost about 200 bucks, and if you buy through AirAsia, it will be cheaper than 2 times.

out of 100 tourists who visited Thailand, I met a maximum of 2-3 who did not like it. And that was only because they were not there and not like that. This is a special country and in order to understand it, it is very necessary that someone who knows is nearby and coordinates actions correctly. Now why is it better with agencies. I'll give you a couple of examples. Entrance to the crocodile farm costs 400 baht. Transtwer itself will cost at least 200 baht in two directions. This is 600. And no one will tell you anything. A tour with transfers and a guide costs 450. The entrance to Nong Nooch is 500 baht, the transfer is at least 300, and again no one will tell you anything. Excursion without problems with a bunch of information 550 baht. The agency will also be able to book normal housing 2 times cheaper than you yourself, especially to find it. You only need to come and live without worrying about anything. It's the same with moving to the islands and housing there.. Tell me the meaning of overpaying for independence and creating problems for yourself? And you can actually make your own itinerary. I can only advise. Or reduce the cost of your own route, saving you from unnecessary headaches and giving you a bunch of interesting information.
аватар Amir1
Elena25 you first calculate what is proposed above with transfers and accommodation in these hotels for such a number of days, and then draw conclusions whether you need an agency or not. And this is not an advertisement. Just wanted to help. And how difficult it is here to quickly navigate all these parameters in the absence of knowledge, I know from myself. once he came to Tai for the first time. Savage. We spent a lot of extra money. But if you are ready to pay money precisely for overcoming these obstacles, if this is the meaning of the trip, then I can understand and you are welcome to Thailand yourself. And if it’s really difficult, then my phone is on the site. You can call. I'll suggest everything. FOR FREE.
аватар Alfini
A trip to Indonesia does not require a million dollars, dear Amir.
Flight Bangkok-Medan (Sumatra) 50 dollars from Air Asia. It's more than real.
The fact that you are interested in selling tours in Pattaya does not mean that Pattaya is the place to go to. Southeast Asia is large and diverse.
"Camelot", the trees are green .... only this is enough to beat back the love of Thailand forever.
аватар Kitsune
I have the opposite opinion. With regards to excursions, you can buy them on the spot (from trusted "agents") + when a company travels, or 2-3 people, it is always more interesting by yourself than following a guide with a crowd of people. In such a case, freedom of action is important - what interests me, then I look.
About apartments, bungalows, hotels, again, from personal experience, there are a lot of sites and forums where everything is written.
Yes, there are excellent sites in English, where everything is clearly and accessible, you can call, write, they will do everything (and cheaper than through our Russian agency).
Moving to the islands - there are ferries (a ferry goes to the same Koh Samui).
I have experience of visiting savage countries such as Japan, Tai, Sing, Korea, Viet, Malaysia, Czech Republic. The US and Australia are on the way.
And I can say with confidence that not a single agency offers me a tour for the amount that I will spend.
As an example, do you know how much a trip to Okinawa cost us for 4 people (with a flight Tokyo-Naha-Tokyo, hotel accommodation and car rental with gasoline)? At 70 thousand rubles. No agency will offer such a cheap tour. With Tai and other countries, the situation is similar (perhaps with the exception of the resorts of Yegi and Turkey).
аватар Amir1
Alfini but the questioner has a different opinion. And it fits perfectly with mine. Here it is best not to stay in a hotel, but to rent a guest house or an apartment. Although Camelot is just fine for storing things.
аватар Amir1
okay, I'm not here to argue, but to advise. Just remember that if a ferry costs 100 baht for a tourist, then 40 baht for an agency. And the agency can sell it for 50. And so with everything that you spend money on. Here in Thailand, everything is built on this.
аватар Alfini
"If all this is to a lesser extent, but characteristic of the country as a whole (and many here say that this is not so)"
This is not true:)
"And the ideal exotic for me is the island of Socotra, Yemen."
Wow! Cool, just looked it up! And how to get there?
аватар hatinka
Amir1, I do not argue that someone is better off with agencies. For God's sake. I'm not better)))
All my friends travel by themselves and we have no problems. And those who create problems for themselves on trips, probably, let them turn to more experienced assistants.
I don’t even want to get into such details now - a crocodile farm, Nong Nooch ...
Before that, I still need to understand, is it worth going to Tai at all?
There are many fans of this country, entire clubs and forums. Egypt also has ardent fans.
And the first and second to ask "is it worth it to go ..." the answer is obvious, it's worth it.
That's why I'm asking my question not on Farangra, but on Turpravda)))
So far, I am very skeptical about oriental life, traditions ... I like only the nature of the east. I will definitely not be in a frenzy of delight from the bright temples, zoos, elephants, cuisine ...
I risk to fit into those 2-3 people who do not like Tai.
I'll try to avoid it. I start with where he settles, so that it is quiet, beautiful, clean, without "Thai glamour"
