Koh Samui or Samet?
They said that you can go to Samet for quiet beaches. Tell me where is better? I am also interested, as in the previous question, - a calm sea, a good entrance to the sea (for a child). Well, to be clean.

We rested on Koh Chang, Klong Prao beach, a clean good beach, calm sea, no sharp depth, there were vacationers with children. There are three hotels on the beach, the most budgetary of the same name is a very pleasant hotel Klong Prao Resort 3, a very good but more expensive Koh Chang Paradise Resort & Spa 4. Look, you might like it.

Thanks Lina! And tell me, how about "eat" there? Are there any cafes other than hotel restaurants?

Were on Koh Samet. Clean sea. White sand. But the waves were big. "Bounty" is not. Chang or Kud is probably better. There is a "bounty"

Right on the shore between the Klong Prao Resort 3 hotel and the Kacha Resort & SPA 3 hotel there is a cute and inexpensive beach cafe, the prices are cheaper than in the hotel restaurant, the food is delicious, the portions are large and you don’t have to change clothes and go somewhere, the menu is in English and Russian. Along the road closer to the hotel Koh Chang Paradise Resort & Spa 4 there are shops, fruit stalls, macaroni (we had dinner with a portion of rice noodles with shrimp $ 2), they fry amazing pancakes ($ 1), they took it with mango and chocolate, very tasty, there is also a supermarket (try aloevera juice with grape juice, it is very tasty and healthy, it costs 80 baht) and an exchange from a bank with a normal rate. If you wish, you can take a ride to Bang Bau once, this is a village on the water, from any of the hotels on a tuk tuk to the right for 50 baht per person, there are various clothes / souvenir shops and restaurants interesting as an independent tour.

Yes, at the Kacha Resort & SPA 3 hotel there is a cool masseuse Madame Kiso (she is a Thai massage teacher), it’s difficult to get to her in her age with glasses, I signed up, she does an awesome Thai massage (if you need to improve your health) it costs 300 baht, I left another 10 tips , if it's just relaxation, then oil does almost everything normally.

Samet is definitely not a relaxing holiday. There are more people than oxygen. Koh Samui will be much quieter, but much more expensive. The alternative, indeed, is Chang. I fully support all the hotels mentioned by Lina. I can only add that the most popular among our tourists is Coconut Beach Resort. He has 5 points on the principle of price-quality. You can consider it as an option.

Thank you very much for your advice! Let's think :))) And how is the weather on Chang in March-April?
аватар Lina23S
Of course, people travel to the islands all year round, but it’s better to take March, April-May, these are the hottest months in Thailand and very high humidity, adults sometimes endure it hard, and you and your children, it’s better not to risk it.

Thank you! And in the next branch on Koh Samui, I was advised to go the other way around in May, not earlier. Is the weather really that different?
аватар Lina23S
Yes, the heat on the islands is certainly easier to bear than in the city, but I would not risk it with a child. The humidity there is already high, in January (+32) on the island the dew in the morning is like a good rain at night, and in April-May the temperature rises and at the same time the humidity increases. Our godfathers flew to Phuket in early May, they said that the first days they even swelled, then they acclimatized, so these are adults. Everyone endures differently, but even those of us who live and work there for years say that these are the most difficult months.

They write that at the entrance to Samet they pay a fee for the natural park. Do I need to pay it if a hotel is booked for a week of stay, if not, how can I confirm it? And in general, how much is this fee and where to pay it?
Thanks
аватар Amir1
payment at the entrance to the reserve in the amount of 200 baht per person. The presence of the booked hotel does not matter.
