It is very difficult to advise if you have not been to the sea and there is nothing to compare.
The main thing to understand is that in Pattaya hotels are intended, in fact, for spending the night, the area near the hotels is small. You spend all your main rest outside the hotel. If you choose between 4 * hotels, then in general you will fall into the middle price segment, and you will get a completely normal quality of the room stock. Reviews of tourists will help you better understand the current state of hotels. You can also find good 3+, but you better not take risks for the first trip.
Have you already familiarized yourself with general information about Thailand and Patai in particular and about the principle of resting there? How active or passive do you lead and what do you want to get from your vacation? Your expenses will definitely be affected by the period of your vacation. From October to December 31, the price tag will gradually increase.

From what has already been suggested, the options are quite contrasting.
Botany Beach is quite a pleasant green three-ruble note, but it is too far from Patai itself, if you don’t get out of it and use only the hotel guide’s excursions (which is not very cheap), then it’s quite possible to consider.
Lantana, on the contrary, is a city hotel, you need to walk to the sea, but close by are all the city entertainments of Patai and a bunch of street travel agencies.
As for the hotels that Dmitry1969 advised, I personally don’t know such hotels in Patai, of course I haven’t been there for some time, but if you mean Seagull Home, then this is Phuket and the hotel, in my opinion, is crap, and I personally know Old Palace only in Ayutai, well, in Hurghada in Egypt there is, let the experienced correct me if I'm wrong.

Personally, I would advise looking at hotels either just south of Patai, but no further than the end of Jamtien Beach, or just north of Patai. And the sea is nearby (although the purity of the sea is not brilliant, but quite tolerable) and close enough to all the city's evening entertainment, shops, bars, discos.

Hello ! I would recommend The Green Park Resort. Large area, lots of greenery. After visiting for a week, I recommend going to the islands for a couple of days. I really like Koh Chang island. It is a bit far from Patay but the island is big. you can take a motorbike and together go around all the waterfalls of the island. Also in the reserve, you can arrange with a guide for a day hike in the dogs.

In the Jomtien area:
"Palm Beach" 4 * (without balconies), "Sea Breeze" 3 * (you need to choose building A or B, I don't remember exactly, it's better there), "Grand Jomtien Palace" 3 * (they themselves rested there, I'll go again with pleasure), "Divari" 4 * (there is a Thai Manop nearby who sells excursions inexpensively, very popular with tourists), the sea in these hotels is across the road, but swimming in Pattaya is an amateur everywhere (dirty). If you are going to go to the center in the evenings and often, then I don’t recommend going further than Divari (in particular, to Ravindra, Botany Beach, Ambassador City), it takes longer to get there.
In the center: "Tropicana" 3 * (not cheap, because in the center, has access to 2 streets), "Sabai Wing" in the center everything is within walking distance (take a closer look), "Siam Bayshore" 4 * (next to the pier to to travel to the islands, but expensive). "Camelot" 3 * next to the pier, but the reviews are conflicting from bedbugs to theft, no balconies.
In the north of Pattaya, in the area of u200bu200bthe site with dolphins, there is, as it were, the final minibus (Tut Tukov) "Green Park" 3 *, well, maybe even "Woodlands" 3 *.

I forgot to add a lot of cafes on the island. For example, compared to Koh Samet, food is cheaper. Staying on the island will cost you less than in Pattaya. Also on the island there are budget excursions to wild islands.

All hotels were chosen for themselves, for a trip in June 2014, reviews were read - re-read, all hotels except those marked above, with balconies, but in the "Tropicana" there are "boar" rooms without balconies, I can also name hotels on the 2nd street "Grande" salt" without balconies, but there was a construction site nearby, "Caesar Pelas" 3 *, but I would prefer the hotel to be closer to Beach Street (Beach Road), well blown by the breeze from the sea.

The Camelot 3 * hotel is small, cozy, located a 10-minute walk from the pier and Walking Street walking street or the Welcome Plaza 3 * hotel is located on the second street near two shopping centers and the night bazaar. My wife and I were in Pattaya 5 times. And we can to say that this is the best value for money-location

Definitely need to consider hotels on Jamtien beach. You can easily get to the center and to the pier. If you don’t care about clubs and entertainment, then it’s better to look at hotels on Na Jamtien beach. From there it is close to the Military Beach, which is not inferior to the purity of the water on the island of Koh Lan. In the north of Pattaya, check out the Garden Sea View 4 *, which has a garden, a beautiful pool and its own beach.

Good afternoon. Pattaya is the Thai version of Antalya. I recommend Koh Chang. Quiet and not expensive.
аватар mr.titovscky
Pattaya is a dirty sea and a general Asian dirty garbage dump - there is nothing good in Pattaya - if you have a rest in Thailand, then this is just an island vacation - Koh Chang Phuket Samui Samit - there on the islands you will find a Bounty-type beach, clear sea and mass pleasant impressions .... there is truth in Pattaya - a couple of decent hotels - royal cliff and grand centara - but it’s of little use - smelly dirty sea with floating faeces - crowds of dirty prostitutes and transvestites - well, our astonished tourists with an imprint of surprise on face ... Dirty cafes and dirty beaches - not the place to go to rest - for many who travel to Pattaya for the first time and are sold in travel agencies - tours are cheaper than on the islands ---

Antalya is a thousand times better than Pattaya - Antalya has cleanliness and a beautiful sea ---- Crimea is a thousand times better than Pattaya - the Emirates are also a thousand times better ---- if you choose Thailand, then only islands ------ only--!!koh chang--phuket--koh samui---you will like it there-- but not in the dump-pattaya!!!

I would recommend The Green Park Resort. Large area, lots of greenery. However, the sea in the city is unsuitable for swimming, as all sewage flows directly there. In some places along the coast there is a smell of feces. Therefore, you can swim only on the islands or somewhere far outside the city. It’s a bit far to go to the ferry from this hotel (30 minutes in total). There is also a smell of sewage everywhere in the city.

Where I rested. 1. I really liked Aylan View 3 *, but it was demolished and another hotel is being built. But there is a Cozy beach nearby, a good hotel, a lot of Russians, if they tell me something, they will help. 2. Grand Jomtien Palace 3 *, this is a different area of Pattaya, we lived in a Chalet with a private pool, the hotel itself is better than the first, but the territory is no, somehow elongated, not cozy. The first hotel is better. 3. Tropicana 3 * The hotel is good, the location is even better in the very center, but the breakfast is worse than in previous hotels, but this is not critical, there are many cafes nearby, and the festival center store, everything is there. 4. Long Beach 4 * is the north of Pattaya, a cool hotel, rooms, breakfasts, territory, its own beach, sunbeds for free, many cafes, 7 eleven, mini Lotus, but farther from the center than we would like.
I also liked Siam Bayshore 4 * were visiting there, an awesome hotel, and the rooms and breakfasts are super. The territory is green straight jungle, very beautiful. But the only negative is that there is no beach to go out and swim, and you won’t run into the island every day.

There is a place in Pattaya where you can have a decent rest! And the sea is clean! This place is Jomtien beach. More specifically, the Ambassador city hotel complex. The most downhole hotel in this complex is "Ocean". Rooms with balconies! Without a balcony, you have the prospect of walking in wet swimsuits! The beach is half a meter away. Lots of pools. And, most importantly, there is no stink, as in the center of Pattaya. And there is no disco noise. And if you wish, you can reach the center by tuk-tuk in 15 minutes. This is our 7th time going to this place! By the way, the price is more than affordable. "Botanis" and other "Ravindras" with "Dorshads" are many times more expensive! Believe me, Turkey, Egypt, the UAE cannot be compared with Thailand!

Oh no, yes, the Ambassador has a large territory, but the sea is not so hot there, we were in Botany beach, it’s nearby, then in 12 days we swam only once on the first day of arrival, and so we went to the islands, so andreyvip is right about the distance, it’s far to get to the center and the sea is dirty, so it’s better to look for something closer to the center and still go swimming to the islands, in general, Pattaya is not a cheap vacation, they chose it themselves to be cheaper, in the end they spent money on trips to the islands every day, and how much time it takes to figure out how to get there, how to get there, where prices are lower, well, it’s better to Phuket or some kind of clean island.

I think that the guys are quite literate and understand that they do not go to Pattaya across the sea, the sea is just an additional bonus. In order to swim normally, you need to go to the Red Sea or the Canary Islands. Well, of course, it is better to swim from Patai to get out to the islands.
In Pattaya, you need to go on excursions, go to shows.
Ambassador is an interesting option, but this hotel does not give almost any idea about the country, its pros and cons. It is located quite far from Pattaya. His whole principle is the same as in Turkey and Egypt - the tourist must be on the territory of the hotel and leave money here. Going to entertainment in Pattaya every day will be expensive. A good option for families with small children or for people aged when they have already looked everywhere and just want to relax in a sun lounger looking at the sea.

Here Comrade Kleczko advised Koh Chang. Useful advice. But why mislead tourists with the expression: "Calmly and inexpensively"!? Maybe calm, but many times more expensive than Pattaya. No excursion program! This is to the fact that in Pattaya a wonderful excursion! If tourists go for the first time, then it is clear that not only to the sea, but to see the country.
аватар Oleksii64
There are a thousand hotels - it's hard to advise. Based on the fact that the question is asked by young people - it means mobile. The excursion will take at least 6-7 days, the beach is Ko-lan, in the evening - Walking Street. I think you just need to look at the map of the Walking Street area - the pier. Camelot was mentioned - a good option.
аватар Piligrim44
And we go overseas to Tai! For, our Crimea is not available for money! That's just now snatched two vouchers for 16.09. in Ambassador Ocean for 12 days for forty-one thousand for two.
аватар Polanskaya1955
Hello! In order not to spoil the rest, you don’t need to go to Potaya. You need to go to Ko-chang or Samed. It’s dirty in Ptaya, a garbage dump!
аватар zloi1
Consider Rabit if it’s your first time at sea, don’t spoil your impression with a cheap hotel, there is no passing street near it, your sun loungers, next to Jomtien
аватар tango1968
There is a good hotel Avalon near Rabit, we have stayed there a couple of times and are satisfied.
аватар zloi1
the area itself is nice, quiet, calm!!!!!!!!!!
аватар andreyvip
I will support tango1968
Both Rabbit and Avalon can be taken into account. Very good hotels. Quiet and tidy, good location, there is no road nearby, but at the same time you can get to Pattaya quickly and not expensive, one of the main Tuk-Tuk routes passes nearby. The beach is one of the cleanest and nicest around Pattaya. There are many cafes, shops and shops within walking distance.
Of the shortcomings, the price tag is above average and not all tour operators work with them.
