You can swim everywhere. In terms of temperature. There are fewer children on the islands. And the beaches are cleaner. There are many islands in Krabi where “prim” elderly Europeans (Germans, British ....) without children rest. Quiet rest for the elderly. For example, Ko Siboya. The sea is clean, but the sand is silted up from the tides. There are a huge number of different crabs in the sand on the shore. Go to the depths like in the Baltic States - well, VERY far ... Now I'm on vacation in Thailand. Khao Lak area. One of the national parks of Tai. Chosen according to the principle: complete Relaxation, no parties, empty beaches. 100% hit!!! Germans and Scandinavians have a rest. There are very few Russians. There are almost no Chinese. There are several beaches here. We are in the north.
