In Alanya, you can walk on your own without an excursion. There is a regular bus (1 lira) to the fortress above the city. As for Pamukkale, it’s very far away and in the summer you just don’t want to get off the bus in such heat (it’s inside the country, in a mountainous area, plus the “attraction itself is on a mountain :) By the way, last year there was no water in all the travertines (lakes)! It is already served artificially and it is forbidden to walk on travertines! So the pleasure is half-time :) As for the Cleopatra pool, it's full of people! Plus, not everyone will like it under the scorching sun, it's in the water, where the temperature is also +28, if not more! And yet, on the eve of the trip in advance, order a lunch package at the reception in the afternoon, pick it up before leaving (usually early in the morning).
