My family and I have just returned from Botanik. There is no infection there at all, and it cannot be at the level of cleanliness that is observed in the hotel. This whole story unfolded before my very eyes. Several children were indeed hospitalized for one or two days at a local hospital with suspected infection. But as it turned out later, these children simply from the very arrival, from morning to night, were under the scorching sun, and naturally the children's body could not withstand such an overload. The children began to vomit, the temperature rose sharply (these are just the symptoms of heat and sunstroke). This was originally taken for a viral infection.
I can assure you, we went as two families and both with small children, if you don't mess with the sun, everything will be fine. We have traveled to Turkey many times and stayed in various good hotels, but this one is the best.

I called the hotel today. Spoke with reception and guest relations. According to the hotel, now they are doing well, 2 weeks ago there were several cases of illness, they did an analysis of the water from the pools, an analysis of the food, and nothing was found. The staff was also sick, which refutes the version of water. Nobody is sick now.

We rested in Botanica 4 times, this time from 08/04/10 to 08/13/10 was the last. Of course, they will not tell you there that they have a wand, because people will stop going there, and they will suffer huge losses. These children did not overheat in the sun, and not only children got sick, adults too. And it was not 2-3 cases, but at least 15 (we were told in the hospital in Side), and then they increased. It’s a pity that this all ruined the rest: we didn’t swim in the pool, we also selectively ate food, we refused vegetables, because we didn’t know what it was from. Nearby at the Dolphin Hotel (the same owner), they confirmed to us that quarantine was in Botanica, so we were not allowed to walk around their territory. In general, think better than later, God forbid, disentangle.

To be honest, the level of the hotel has fallen: the food has become much worse (once I got a sour watermelon), not as diverse as it used to be, the rooms require a long renovation (the hotel is over 30 years old, after all), mold has appeared in the rooms in places, that nobody cleans up. In the "a la carte" restaurants, it also got worse, less variety (the fish crab sticks were stale), the staff is not so attentive. When we got sick, the doctor prescribed us pills that were supposed to be brought from the pharmacy, at the reception they first forgot to give the pharmacy a prescription, then they said that the medicines would be at 22.00, we came up, but they weren’t there yet, they said to come back at 12 at night, we we asked them to bring us to the room (since it is especially undesirable to walk with a troy), to which we were told that they do not have such a service, they asked us to at least call when the lectures were available, but they didn’t do that either. The Botanist has deteriorated, unfortunately.
There were practically no sunbeds free by the sea - they were all occupied from 6, probably, in the morning until the evening (people left towels, water, etc.) This is not a vacation, if you have to think about how to find a sunbed by the sea, the same the situation with the tables in the main restaurant.

Rest in this hotel is not cheap, but there are a lot of tourists there (most of them are permanent, there are those who have been in the hotel 12 times !!!!!). Therefore, because of such a crowd of people, they stopped trying hard. And then there’s this wand ... They shouldn’t have set people up like that, they would have said that there is something, so that people would just be more careful somewhere (indeed, it happens, one could understand), but in fact there are a lot not only the children fell ill, those who got off with t-swarm and disorder were lucky, but the majority were with t-swarm 40, vomiting, disorder, which they could not reach the ambulance on their own! The hotel has a doctor. Temperature and pressure are measured free of charge. They give an injection and the pills that they have available only if they have insurance (they write down all the data, call the representative of the insurance company). We needed pills for the disorder, temperature, the doctor prescribed them for us, said to bring them to the reception, and there they faxed the prescription to the pharmacy. We paid for the medicines ourselves (for two people, 3 packs of some Turkish pills each paid $ 38), they gave a check from the pharmacy, they said that in Ukraine we could apply to an insurance company that would reimburse us everything. There are large pebbles on the beach, at the entrance to the sea - large mixed with small ones, and again large in the sea itself. Entering the sea is very painful, and getting out is even more painful (especially if there are waves). My advice: buy each family member such special rubber slippers for entering the sea. The beachboy is the same there, you can try to negotiate - it seems like a normal guy, we talked with him (he speaks Russian well). We lived in Rosa and for some reason we were always afraid to live in the Park (because of the restaurant). In Rosa there are rooms with a sea view, arrange for them to give you. I read in the reviews that you can negotiate for 10-20 dollars, but we didn’t do that, since the view of the sea doesn’t matter to us, the main thing was not in the Park, not in the building near the Park (I don’t remember the name) and not on the 1st floor :)

Briefly about the main thing. The hotel is super, you can safely put 5- (minus because of the beach, stones like in Sochi). However, the epidemic that took place at that time (believe it or not really) spoiled the whole impression about the rest, beer, fresh juices, amusement park ice cream, in short, everything (even red fish and well-made purchases in the store, agitators in which walk along the path where they give out towels). I am very glad if the hotel administration coped with this disaster (the disease is expressed in the vomit of just walking people for no reason, temperature under 40, diarrhea). I don't know what it is - rotovirus or E. coli. However, on our departure, about 100 people were in the hospital and the hotel staff was already sick!
They say all kaka started with a pool with dolphins, and then it went further - hence the large amount of bleach in the pools and the nightly cleaning of the paths with the same chemical substance, which did not save even those who arrived later and knowing everything swam only in the sea.
