How much to take to Istanbul for 2 weeks?
We are planning to go with a friend for the Christmas holidays, scrupulously calculate the budget. If you do not take into account the New Year's festivities, how much, on average, should you expect? We are thinking of buying IstanbulKart at the airport right away, but we are not sure about the amount of replenishment. Breakfast is included in the room payment, we don’t buy clothes, jewelry, souvenirs (usually we bring local sweets as gifts for the remaining money)
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Well, in addition to a card for food and museums, put 50 lira per person per day. I think, with strict economy, enough.

What are you going to do in Istanbul for 2 weeks? If you do not go to museums, then you can also not use public transport. If the room has a kitchen, then you can eat almost for pennies. And in general, food in Istanbul is not expensive, and transport is cheap compared to Europe. But what are you planning to do there?

))) question to the point.
But if they walk around Istanbul on foot, then two weeks is just right to get around everything.

Walk, eat, just live in another city)

ollennka, thank you for your reply!
xeops, let's go to museums, how can we miss it, just without fanaticism, I guess. If possible, we are thinking of doing one-day trips from Istanbul to some other remarkable cities by bus or train

iNicole, according to your, no doubt, ingenious link - a note "Prices in Turkey 2013" dated 01/23/2013. On the calendar 11/29/2016, thanks for visiting.

Prices in Turkey have risen. If before 2014 it was possible to manage at the very least $ 20 per person, then it is now - and this is 60 lira. The weather in Istanbul in January is disgusting - rain, snow, and wind, so dress in Kiev . Two weeks is enough to get acquainted with the central part of the city and its main attractions, and there are at least twenty of them. Find these places for yourself. I would not go on excursions, it will be enough to get to know the European and Asian parts well. It would be nice to have a navigator, you can get lost very easily - a few years ago I was looking for my car for two hours, like Gesha from the "Diamond Hand". Ride, relax, return successfully (if there are no other plans)!

ckatyusha, if you were attentive, you would see that the prices are highlighted in red, the exchange rate, inflation are indicated on the site in real time and are updated once a week ...

Igor_m, prices in Turkey have not increased, it's just that the exchange rate has changed not in our direction))

iNicole, food prices have increased by 20-25% since 2013, and some by 70% - crop failure, inflation. These are data from acquaintances from Istanbul, Izmir and Kemer (Camyuva). I am familiar with the exchange rate relative to our money, it is always “not in our direction”, we have to work three times more productively.

Igor_m, perhaps Turkish citizens and long-term residents in Turkey feel the rise in prices, like all of us in our post-Soviet states ... but I will say for myself - I did not feel the critical difference in prices in lira, but again, the growth in the exchange rate is very even affects the purchasing power of tourists...
