How much will the new year cost?
We want to go with my husband for 5-7 days, so that we can catch the New Year holidays. Can anyone suggest a nice place? So that the conditions are good and the prices are not prohibitive. And not to be very boring. We have never been to the Carpathians. Therefore, it is difficult to imagine what kind of infrastructure is there. We are going to go by car, so the road is also important.

The infrastructure is as follows - many private small hotels, often immediately with their own cafes, restaurants and just liqueurs. There are many small stalls, shops and no large supermarkets. Locals pull out their (and not only) products right on the track - mushrooms, berries (preserved, dried), feta cheese ... not cheap. Not always local, in lean mushroom years it was generally gloomy, and not mushrooms were sucked in. This year there were a lot of mushrooms, so there is every chance to buy a quality product.
There are markets where you can buy groceries too. There are no entertainment (clubs, water parks, bowling alleys, cinemas, etc.)

Hotel Stanislavsky or Rubel

Go to Bukovel. There are a lot of hotels, cableways (more than 10), tracks for skiers, boarders. It will be cheaper to stay in Yaremche, and not Bukovel itself. You can rent a house there. In general, there are separate houses and rooms in the area. you can go to Nadvirnaya market, it's about 35 km, but it's very cheap. Where will you enter from? I take it you're in a car? I can tell you, tell me, because I come from there, but I live in Russia. We drive a car ourselves every year.

If you are skiing or boarding, then Bukovel is the best. Yes, more expensive, yes much more. But! From the highway to the GC itself (approx. 3-4 km) - guaranteed to be unrealistic traffic jams. And, if you do not settle on Buka, you will stand in this traffic jam for 1-2 hours in each direction (((Again, parking is also a problem. We have long understood that by saving a certain amount on living, we simply lose time for skiing. Efficiency, so to speak, is lower. Living on the Buka near the ski lifts, skiing is much more interesting and rational + you can have lunch in your house.
But if not Buk, then Yablunytsya or Makarov-Tatarov are better. In my opinion, Yaremche is far away. If people are going for 5 days in total, then it’s probably not worth going to Nadvirna for groceries. Is that on the way to be stingy. Again IMHO
Well, if you are not interested in skiing, then do not go there at all at this time !!!

But if not Buk, then Yablunytsya or Makarov-Tatarov are better. I mean accommodation, since there is nowhere to ride there.

Yaremche also has its own small descent, excellent for beginners. + infrastructure (pharmacy, clinic, shops, cafes, the famous market near the waterfall) - you don’t need anything else with a child.

I do not agree. There are some small slopes in Volovets, and in Yablunitsa and in almost any village.
For me, all these Volovtsy and Slavsky, Mezhgorye and Lazovshchina, Krasia and Ust-Cherny are a parody, not skiing.
Bukovel has a plus that almost everywhere there are armchairs, and not these dead ancient yokes. A beginner can climb higher and see at least some mountains and at the same time ride along an easy descent.
And to go from afar to Yaremche on their ... track of 200m (or how much there) is a waste of money. Better in Pylypets. So you can ride in Protasov. IMHO
In addition, it is not a fact that people generally go skiing. They didn't specify.
And they didn't write about children. If children, then Yaremche will do.
If suddenly not for skiing / boarding and not for hiking in the mountains, then you should not go at all!
When choosing a "relatively infrastructural" village, I would not choose Yaremcha. It's just the closest tolerable town with a waterfall to Franyk. I would go further, somewhere in Yasinya, at least you can get into normal mountains (Drag) and Buk at the same distance as Yaremcha turns out.
I still insist that it is better to avoid the old yokes on the plain and study under normal conditions! It's still a vacation :-)

In addition to skiing pleasures, there is also just relaxation, beautiful nature, clean air. Life does not end on skis. personally unacceptable for me and it's not even about money, although everyone knows the prices there are exorbitant. It doesn’t surprise me that basically all hotels, for example in Bukovel, are located on the resort’s highway along which there is a busy and noisy car traffic, there are no private courtyards, a monopoly on food and SPA. I prefer more comfortable hotels at a real price with their own restaurants, saunas in quiet and beautiful places.

I mean the same. If a person does not ride (I don’t ride at all, and my husband cannot live without skis), then it makes no sense to go to NG in this area at all. Because there is nothing to do, but it is expensive, the prices are very high at this time. You can breathe air in November or February at half the price.
I visit the Carpathians about 5-7 times a year, mostly I go to the mountains. It is difficult to recommend Yaremche as a place with beautiful nature - it is a city that is dirty due to the abundance of people and in order to get into the mountains, you need to walk 5-6 hours. I would recommend Ust-Chernaya as a natural beauty (the village is farther away, there is no road), but getting far ...
There are a lot of cool villages, but the regional centers (people want infrastructure) are Yaremche, Mezhhirya, Volovets, Rakhiv ... Dirty, crowded, it takes a long time to spank to beautiful nature.
So we went to Bukovel this summer, we took a cottage for 300 UAH / day (it is designed for 7-8 people, the closest to the ski lifts). The price for the same cottage in the high season is $300 (maybe more this year).
Who will go to the mountains in winter? Of those who were not, none. Yes, and it is better not to walk in the winter yourself - there is less work for lifeguards.

Armchairs (both in Buka, in Slavske, in Pylypets) have a huge plus is that a person who does not ride, but wants to breathe clean air and look at the mountains, can still do it!
I got up on an armchair and walked there for an hour or two. Tirelessly. It's clean and beautiful there. And to walk in Yaremche ...
In general, for skiing-to Buk, for pure nature-Osmoloda, Burkut, Ust-Chernaya, Stara Guta, Dilove, Hoverla.
And behind the infrastructure-Yaremche ;-)
And to you, Liliana, I recommend Ust-Chernaya (and Ruska is wet) - very specific places, since you are not the first time in the Carpathians, go there, you will like it! These are former German villages, located between two ridges, there are few tourists, but there are chic estates, there are not many of them. It takes an hour and a half to climb to a height of 1400 directly from the house. Views-class! Of the minuses-getting through Rakhiv (there is no Kolochava-Ruska-Mokra road and never has been :-()
These are the villages of lumberjacks, they still have traditions that are not for tourists because of the remoteness from large tourist cities.
All in all, happy holidays!
