We were in 2012 at Jaz Fanara 4*, and in 2015 at Club El Faraana Reef Resort 4*. We liked Jaz Fanara much more (the food is at a height, the presence of a dive club where you can borrow equipment on bail, an instructor with daily swims), but since that time a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, especially since Jaz Fanara was closed for some time. After opening, I don't know. But Faraana also has its own charm: the style of the hotel is more oriental, the presence of a pontoon (although you need to go through a small stretch of the beach where the locals hang out), a larger beach compared to Fanara, in my opinion a better location (closer to old town complex 1000 and 1 night). Chicken or meat floats in an inedible sour liquid with seasonings. The fish is smelly. Rotten bananas, grapes in a sweet solution, poor quality dates.

The descent to the beach is destroyed and traumatic. The second descent is along a very high stone staircase. The beach is looked after by an old janitor. There is a bar, but poor. Settling is difficult and nerve-wracking. The staff is tense and not very friendly. When choosing a room, we reviewed 6 rooms, barely chose an acceptable one. We are unpretentious, but we expect cleanliness and serviceability of equipment. A janitor in worn clothes and exhausted cleans two or three houses with several rooms a day. What a cleaning!
