Carriage of luggage in glass and tin: how can I bring it on an airplane?
From Greece we plan to bring all sorts of food "souvenirs" such as oil, wine, olives, feta, etc. As a rule, such products are sold (and better preserved) in glass jars and bottles or in tin containers (jars and containers). How can you carry all this on an airplane? Will they make you throw glass containers out of your hand luggage? And won't they throw it all away at the baggage screening?
It is the subtleties of the "aircraft" baggage rules that are of interest, and not the customs ones (everything seems to be clear with them :)).
We fly non-stop, on a regular flight, UIA, Kyiv-Athens-Kyiv.
Thank you in advance!!!

In hand luggage it is possible only from duty free, because. you have already passed all the customs officers. And so they will force you to either leave it or pack it in your luggage. this is clear. They even take the mineral water out of hand. But in duty everything is very expensive. So buy at home an oilcloth for packing (such a pimply one) and immediately pack it into your suitcases.

Liquids are not allowed in hand luggage. As already mentioned above, the option is duty free, but expensive. We bought in supermarkets olive oil in cans or in plastic (Minerva is my favorite), homemade wine in plastic, for transporting wine and other alcoholic beverages in glass we have been using containers for printer cartridges, such as air cushions, for many years to transport wine and other alcoholic drinks in glass. Or again, sound advice from marina1313 packaging film with bubbles. Cheeses, olives, figs and other delicacies go there - in luggage.

All that you have listed - hand over only in luggage! Not allowed in hand luggage! Air (with bubbles) packaging film will come in handy.

I always wrap the glass in my luggage with towels or clothes. make sure that the glass does not come into contact with the walls of the suitcase. put on soft.
This year in Georgia, I got a lot of wine and lemonade. since I flew home just in time for May 9th and it was clear that everything would be drunk quickly, on the day of departure I poured lemonade and part of the wine into plastic bottles, upon arrival the wine was poured into a glass decanter, and the lemonade was quickly drunk.
in Tunisia, olive oil was bought in cans

Such a question torments me (inspired, rather, by the number of "Ural dumplings" :) ) - but how "cruelly" can they rummage through our things in our absence ??? Will they suddenly take everything and throw it away? Has anyone had such cases?
We, of course, wrap everything in "bubbles" (there is just a whole roll), and in towels and things. We are not afraid of violating the integrity of the container, but rather the arbitrariness of customs / airport services ...

And if you know about the arbitrariness of customs officers, but rather loaders at the airport, will this help you out or will something change?

Help out, not so upset)))

How many flew - no one took food and souvenirs from the suitcase, the main thing is not to put valuables and money there.

roll up the suitcase, put stickers on it. without your knowledge and presence, they have no right to open it. the packaging will be damaged or replaced with another whip - go to scandal, threaten the press, etc.
when I fly to our miracle homeland, I wrap the suitcase myself and sculpt colored tape, remember which side the locks are on, etc.

At any airport there is a service for packing luggage, pack your luggage in a special film, as a rule, it is packed very high quality and there will be no problems. And "Ural dumplings" in their interludes slightly exaggerate, you should not take everything literally.

Security services HAVE the right to open suitcases. So all these films are only from thieving loaders. Customs will not care about your oil.

security services have the right to open the suitcase in your personal presence.
Last year I flew with a friend to the Philippines. she was already pulled out of the departure hall by border guards - they announced a request to go there over the speakerphone. then brought back. the whole point was that she put together a hair dryer and chargers to a laptop and there was a big black spot on the screen. The suitcase was opened, inspected, thanked for cooperation and understanding, and taken back.

Manual, I don't know. But in the luggage we squandered enough wine, jam, almond and cinnamon syrup. as well as olive oil in a tin.

They also have no presence. And in the USA, for example, you, in general, cannot close your suitcase with a regular lock - they will definitely break it, you have to close it with a special one, from which the Security Service has a universal key.
