I have been in Italy for 10 years. 5 years ago, the entry was on a personal car registered in Ukraine, which has not crossed the border since that moment. I want to go home, will there be claims at the border?
I get a green card every year. Transmitted from Ukraine. Can they not let me through customs to Ukraine, as well as when leaving it?

There will be no claims. You are a citizen of Ukraine, your car, customs will approve.
аватар ollennka
Ahem, according to the law, it should have been customs cleared and re-registered for a long time. A particularly curious customs officer can check.

The question is not about Russia, but about Ukrainian customs.
Customs will not be able to interfere, since you went abroad in this car 5 years ago and are now driving home. The car is registered, you don’t need to clear it, you didn’t buy it abroad. There should be no obstacles to go to Italy, your car.
My son just arrived from there without any questions at customs and at the border guards, the only thing now is that there are crazy queues of those who bought a car and decided to save on excise duty, every five days they have to register a car at the border. Therefore, there are huge queues.
By the way, now, according to the law, you can buy a car there, bring it for yourself on the condition that you don’t resell it for a year, then you don’t pay excise duty, and this is a decent savings.

alex45, la risposta e esatta - Your answer is correct as always!

Thanks everyone!

Marin-ka, the best gratitude from you would be a short story about your impressions of Italy. Maybe?
аватар ollennka
What does Russia and Ukraine have to do with it? If I understand correctly, the author will take the car out of Italy, I wrote about the Italian customs officer.
аватар Igor_m
ollennka, The author will export his car, registered in Ukraine.
аватар Igor_m
ollennka, You are right if the Author violated the rules for importing cars into Italy, but we do not know about it. Although it seems to have broken.
аватар ollennka
So what am I talking about. Violated, of course, without clearing customs in time and not re-registering in Italy. I didn’t pass technical inspections, I didn’t pay duties and taxes, in general, now it will also be interesting to find out how it will turn out at the Italian customs when leaving ...

Marin-ka, apparently you have Italian rights, you have not removed the car from the register in Ukraine and drive in Italy in Ukrainian numbers. The green card is sent to you regularly, but now the local police have no questions. Cunning, but not punishable
Once they turned such a scheme in a foreign land, what problems could there be in the homeland of customs clearance of the vehicle. What are you not talking about?)
аватар kolyan_cat
we argue logically - if the author enters Ukraine in an Italian car and stays here for 5 years without a break, then I think no one will argue that when leaving, you will have to pay a huge fine at least.
Without knowing Italian laws, it is logical to assume that the mirror situation is equivalent in consequences, which is what the author is interested in.

do not confuse your wool with the state (s) and human laws with antediluvian ripping off. There's a car means of transportation, not extortion. This is personal property, which is confirmed by the bill of sale. True, a car should not be "solid" because then it is considered as a source of income. It is not necessary to register a vehicle (up to the numbers they are purple), but local rights and a green card are required. Formally, it is allowed to be in the Schengen area in your car for any 6 months out of 12. In practice, no one controls this. The only thing they check is a green card for a car, which is much cheaper than a local insurance policy.
PS. If it were Germany, it would be surprising why to carry trash, the cat is many times cheaper there, but in Italy there is a brutal price tag for the secondary. Aftar our shelavegggg

Thanks for the replies everyone. I clarify the situation. My mother lives in Italy, and, accordingly, the car is registered to her. But she doesn’t drive a car, her common-law husband does it. He has Italian rights. Mom has a permesso, and often comes home herself .... but not by car. They live in a small town where there are many cameras on the roads, and naturally the carabinieri do not cling. There has been no damage in all these years. Each breakdown of the car was fixed at a paid hundred, that is, there are receipts for repairs. But the technical inspection was not passed there even once. I understand that the car on the border with Ukraine will be allowed back, but.... The question is this: what to do on the Italian border in Udine. There, the Carabinieri are only looking for cars with Ukrainian. numbers to pick on. 60 percent, that everything will go well, but what about those 40 percent??? Suddenly they will write out a fine for being in the country for such a long line with this car without its registration .... So I'm looking for a way to get around such troubles.

"Yes, nothing will happen, this is your property, do not confuse human laws with antediluvian rip off" - checkmate, dreamers.
As for the ripping off, Europe is cooler than Ukraine and Russia combined. Every sneeze costs money.

Does mom go home by land or by plane?
How long ago was your last entry into Italy and by what means of transport? If you drove by land not earlier than six months ago, you can try to push the legend that it was then that my mother's car was brought to Italy. Maybe ride.
аватар Igor_m
Well, you guys screwed up. "My mother lives in Italy, and accordingly the car is registered to her", "the entry was on a personal car registered in Ukraine" - it turns out two cars, or what?
аватар Marin-ka
ollennka, unfortunately, will not work. I went to Italy two years ago for the last time.
Igor_m, there is only one car (mother's). The car drove into Italy four years ago, after that it never left it. But my mother (the owner of the car) regularly visits Ukraine, she only travels in buses.
аватар ollennka
I don’t like to advise illegal things, but theoretically it can be said that my mother arrived by car for the last time, and not by bus, and now you are driving this car home.
аватар Marin-ka
ollennka, you can try. Only my mother will drive a car to Ukraine. Moreover, the last stamp on crossing the border by land is in the passport. And at least in some documents the dates of import and export of cars into the country are affixed?
аватар ollennka
As for the marks or the electronic database, I don’t know, I never drove my car outside the union state.
Maybe someone from the more advanced members of the forum knows.
аватар Marin-ka
Thank you for that too))))

"And at least in some documents the dates of import and export of cars into the country are affixed?"
For a long time already in the passport do not mark, only in the computer. In the presence of a green card and the absence of fines, no one will take a swing and will happily release them so as not to store rubbish at home. Campaign mother is carrying a gift to her son from sin (expensive disposal) away, no? Declassified in half, cover to the end))
аватар Marin-ka
klichko, you are right. Only the reason is not in expensive disposal (although this is also), but in the fact that it is very inconvenient to drive a VAZ 2110 through the narrow streets of Naples.
аватар klichko
uhh navangovala, I urgently need to fight with psychics)) Well, the "return ticket" is no longer needed. Don't worry, they'll let you out of the queue and cross you onto the road. 2110... in Ukrainian numbers for 5 years... servants at bourgeois service stations... wow. And sneezes still find fault with euro laws. Your mother is a heroic woman, and the carrier friend is definitely our shelaveggg. Here, for your rarity, they will give a three-ruble euro with a scratch, and you underestimate the problems with disposal in Italy. Mom is also in code ... this is a family))
аватар kolyan_cat
Let's first see what the author will do, then we will talk about consumptives who blame the European laws. As they say, "do not confuse tourism with emigration."
аватар ollennka
)))) I'm lying. This is what I understand exotic - on the Lada in Naples.
аватар Marin-ka
ollennka, we are Ukrainians, and we can’t do that))))
аватар kolyan_cat
I saw Lada in England. Once upon a time, they sold a large batch of Ladas there (for export and with right-hand drive), and there even the Lada-taxi service was in York))) Then, of course, they figured out what was happening, they got rid of Ladas, but in the 2000s they still drove like ordinary private cars)))
And I know 2 Dutch people who bought the Volga at the end of 1998 and drove around Amsterdam. They worked here under a contract, and apparently our drivers told them that, like the Volga, the most prestigious car in the USSR was, and reliable))) they fell for it. Volga bought new, black. They broke down almost at the same time, and both of them happened while moving along the streets of Amsterdam, not even a year after the purchase,)) they repaired and repaired them, and sold them to such and such a mother. )))
