I would take a hotel closer to the center, the distance from the beach in Pattaya is not important, they take you from any hotel on excursions, but you still won’t swim in Pattaya, only to the island. You can swim in Pattaya, but only at high tide in the morning, when the water reaches the sunbeds. The water is clean and the bottom is excellent, there are no boats and aquacycles. Generally wonderful. And in the afternoon at low tide and on the islands it is not very pleasant, especially where there are a lot of people. In the evening, it’s also great, but somehow it’s not accepted, everyone has other interests here;)
