Can I take out alcohol? How to take fruit?
Hello! For the first time we gathered in Tai, I read that everyone is bringing fruit home: tell me how to transport them if the food is not with a suitcase, but with a bag, I'm afraid they will wrinkle? Where is the best place to buy them and which ones? How much can you take with you? Well, about alcohol: I want to bring local MCH beer home, can I? And how much?
Thanks for answers!

we carried fruits in hand luggage - initially they were packed in a basket at the market.
Bought in Pattaya in the market and in the BKK
Which ones are already a matter of your taste - try it, choose :-)
Definitely don't take anything you haven't tried with you.
otherwise it will be like with a dragon's eye - outwardly beautiful, but in taste - ....

No need to bring beer ... It is the most common. Here is the local rum there, good and inexpensive. Neither rum nor beer can be carried in hand luggage, only checked in luggage.
There are no restrictions on the export of fruit, except for the weight of luggage and luggage. We carried both in hand luggage and in luggage, everything flies fine if it is well packed. Only on arrival home, it’s better not to tease our valiant customs officers, waving a fruit basket, they also love mangoes and pineapples :))))

Thank you! It's just that a young man loves beer, and his father will buy rum and whiskey - for the collection)))
It's better to hide the fruits so that they don't find ours)))

I always, when I go to Ukraine, I take a separate suitcase with fruit. You can also have beer there, if you really need it. The main thing at customs in your country is not to show what is in your suitcase. As they say, "face with a brick" and confidently forward :))))))))))))))))

We brought fruits in a special foam box, which are sold in supermarkets. Before departure, the fruit in this box was put in the refrigerator. I recommend fruit rambutan, lard, mango, pineapple. Beer - CHANG, SINGHA. Bottles of 0.650 l.

Fruits will definitely try everything we see))) Experience it from our own experience. How much does a suitcase cost approximately? We’re just planning to go with 2 small bags, it’s a lot to carry ... as I understand it, we need to take a minimum ... but back ... and honestly, there’s no suitcase at home))) for how much you can buy it there for transporting edibles supplies? )))
аватар yuran74
Once again I will say that there are special plastic or foam boxes of different sizes for transporting edibles. Suitcases cost from 600 bt. to ... We bought for 900 quite high quality, better than in Egypt for 800 rubles!. Everyone is happy, but maximum things - in a suitcase, maximum fruit - in hand luggage!

suitcases in Pattaya Sea, for every taste and price, almost everyone buys, because everything that you want to bring from Thailand does not fit! sake was also brought from alcohol - terrible disgusting, but you need to try

We brought fruit in hand luggage. You can buy plastic baskets in Thailand and put fruit in them. The most delicious are mangoes, I still remember and salivate. ))))

I carried fruit in hand luggage (about 3 kg) in a plastic basket (I bought it at the fruit market next to Mike Shopping Mall, where I bought fruit). You can’t export fresh durian (this is such a fruit) from Tai (but you will be told about 500 times during the trip): it is very smelly. If you like its taste, do as I did - buy compote in a jar or durian fruit chips in some supermarket. And most of all I liked lychee (such red prickly plums), rambutan (hairy plums), mangosteen (medium-sized brown potato with a green tail on top and garlic inside) and yellow mango. And so try everything, bon appetit))))

Thank you! I have already studied everything in pictures! I will stay there upon arrival. I have already fallen in love with Tai and it’s so pity that the vacation is from April 4 (((((I want to go there now! I hope all my expectations will come true!

A very interesting article! And what kind of fruits can you bring home: so as not to spoil? We fly 12 hours and 6 hours from the airport to the house, well, plus everything else (road, queues, etc.)

I took almost everything except durian and those that I didn’t like. I'm on my way from 9 to 14 hours. Mangosteen, rambutans and pitahaya are not afraid of anything at all, you can even put them in bulk in a suitcase between things. Pineapples at the corners of the suitcase, where the hard frame is. Lychee, longan and their relatives also normally arrive in a suitcase, but already in some kind of box or plastic vessel. Mangoes and sapodillas caused me the greatest fears - they can choke, especially the latter, I try to put them in my hand luggage.
When you choose mangoes, you can take a little underripe - they will "reach" later, and there is less risk of crushing. Do not take those in which the skin is slightly wrinkled and looks lethargic - these have already lain down and are not very tasty.
Z.Y. Fruits that I don’t like are lard (or salak), santol and jackfruit. Papaya, local melons / watermelons, including yellow ones and guava, were completely indifferent.

Hey! Everyone writes as one that they were carrying and did not shake anyone upon arrival in Russia? Since January, ALL FRUITS have been taken away from us in Irkutsk. Persuasion and children do not help, everything is taken away and immediately thrown away. For a month no one has been carrying, you can’t even hide in suitcases, everyone shines.

We flew in October 2010. Pegasus Guide at the Bangkok hotel immediately warned us that we would not carry fruit in hand luggage, only in suitcases. Allegedly, recently, the Thai sanitary police have forbidden transportation in hand luggage. Well, we did not risk it ... neither in hand luggage ... nor in a suitcase, but we really wanted to. Others flew, they said that they were taking it in a suitcase and it seemed to be nothing ... (to Novosibirsk) ... maybe, where, how ... We are also going in April, I really want to bring ... well, I don’t even know ...
аватар Pachok
Firstly, not everyone here is from Russia :))) Secondly, as far as I know, Muscovites and Leningraders do not have such problems. Customs at the Novosibirsk airport is the most fierce, based on information from various forums, there are really problems with the transport of fruit. Now Irkutsk is blacklisted:(((

We were in Thailand in January, the fruits were taken to Moscow in a suitcase, but there was an overweight on the scales and some of the fruits were put in hand luggage - everything went fine. One girl was not allowed in with fruit in her hand luggage, because She packed a basket too big.
аватар Angelika55
Nah .. she's not fierce, she's starving ... apparently!
аватар yuran74
In Tae, I also heard about Novosibirsk and Irkutsk, that everything is taken away there. Apparently the customs officers do not have enough money for a ticket :)))
аватар Angelika55
So the most interesting thing ... The guide warned us that in Bangkok they would not let us in hand luggage, only in luggage ... It alerted me more! It is important for me that in Bangkok everyone is allowed to pass, but in Novosibirsk ... there really ... like a thread ...

Hello! We arrived on March 13 from Pattaya, flew by transaero airlines. The guide advised not to take fruit in hand luggage, because upon arrival in Russia they would not be allowed through customs, they put it in a suitcase and everything is fine ..... But the comrades who bought the special. a container for fruit and handed over to luggage upon arrival received "Fig" ..... all containers turned out to be empty, keep this in mind.
аватар Lada2011
And one more thing, when going through customs at the airport, all hand luggage was checked and shampoo, gel, toilet water were taken away, in short, everything that exceeds 100 ml, so put everything in your suitcase and luggage
аватар max36
They just arrived, they brought fruit 8.5 kg., They were not packed into baskets by local fruit sellers, you just need to tell them in advance when you will leave, they will bring the basket themselves, name the weight and that's it., It costs from 100 baht. The Fruit basket was wrapped with scotch tape and handed over to the luggage, they were taken away upon arrival, nothing was even wrinkled.
аватар Nadya73
Returned March 17th. Fruit at the customs of Bangkok in hand luggage if no one takes away all the norms with weight. They brought pineapple, mango, dragon's eye, lychee in plastic baskets bought at the market. We (Magnitogorsk) very carefully inspected EVERYTHING, both hand and luggage, but it seemed that nothing was taken from anyone either, but it was clear in the eyes that they wanted to. no reason seems to have been found.
