Since you have a child with you, albeit thirteen years old, I would not advise Naithonburi, and here's why: there is a good beach holiday, maximum walks around the neighborhood. It's far from the main roads, so the taxi drivers are "greedy". Our friends with children rested somewhere nearby, so the children exhausted them in ten days, they were bored, and they didn’t have the strength to walk far.
