What can you see, visit in Transcarpathia during a sanatorium vacation?
We are going with a friend in July to Transcarpathia, Polyana. For two weeks I want not to get tired of the rest :) I want to bring as many unforgettable impressions from the trip as possible. After all, the places, apparently, are colorful, picturesque. So he dreams of "embracing the immensity" in a short time.

And what does the signature under the nickname "Ukraine, Uzhgorod" mean? Either Uzhgorod is no longer in Transcarpathia, or you are not from Uzhgorod. In the evening I will write the most detailed list.
аватар ollennka
Hehe, I have the same situation: I lived half my life in Altai, and I saw Altai only when I moved to another city.
аватар mindguru
Without fail Lake Synevyr.
аватар Alexey1983
Shypit waterfall, baths in Berehove, bathe in hot tubs in Lumshory (for lovers of baths and their analogues), go see Didodub and Kryyivka, drive through castles, Serednyansky cellars (wine tasting in ancient cellars)
аватар Alexey1983
there are also a lot of beautiful and interesting things around Mukachevo
аватар staruha_izergil
Yes, there, for sure (as in any resort place), tourists are transported and shown sights to them. Orient yourself on the ground.

An inner voice persistently tells me that the Author of the question is not from Uzhgorod. Therefore, I dare to offer a short sightseeing tour (independent) in the cities and villages of Transcarpathia not far from Polyana.
1. Polyana - Mukachevo, distance 40 km by shuttle bus.
- from. Carpathians - the palace of the counts of Shenborn.
- Chinadievo - the castle of Saint Miklosh, - three km away is the village of Kosino - thermal springs.
- Mukachevo - Celtic courtyard (tasting) is located on the highway to Uzhgorod, very colorful, tasty, varied, but you need to call 066 005 3501 in advance. St. Nicholas Convent. Next, you need to get to the beginning of Dukhnovicha Street, from where you can start the tour. Get out on the square. Cyril and Methodius, on the left you will see a beautiful forged gate, a monument to the chimney sweep Uncle Kolya, behind the gate is the palace of the princes Rakoczy (White House) and the restaurant "Bograch", on the opposite side there is a street. Dostoevsky, if you like coffee and all sorts of sweets, go to the Bondarenko confectionery house, he is there.
аватар Igor_m
Continuation.
Walking to the end of the square, you will see the monument to Cyril and Methodius, the City Hall, turning left onto the street. Pushkin, you will reach the monument to Alexander Dukhnovich, the Assumption Cathedral and the Cathedral of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God. Here you will take the bus to the Palanok castle, and after walking in it, go down to the Palanok hotel, go to the restaurant and learn the real Transcarpathian cuisine, especially bograch.
You can't do it all in one day, plan two.
2. From Polyana, on the road towards Perechin, there is the resort of Voevodino (turn to the village of Turya Pasika), and next to Shenborn Park - I advise. Then, on the same road, turn right into the village. Turii Remety and get to the village. Lumshory, having seen the hut, come in, catch trout, have lunch, visit the vats, alternating with swimming in the river - a must! Then go up to the church of Basil the Great. Yes, two rams run around the hut, not loving women - in winter, a black one beat my wife, for which he was punished, hello to him.
аватар Igor_m
And further.
On the way back, you will see the Zelena Sadiba hotel on the right, there will be time to go in - there are vats and a restaurant one of the best in Transcarpathia.
3. For the whole day on the lake. Synevyr.

I did not expect to receive so much useful information! Thanks to everyone who responded. It remains to digest and decide. There is still time. But the fear of dying from sanatorium boredom disappeared forever.
The last comment is intriguing and terrifying in equal measure. What about people who can't swim? Are there cases known that someone was missing at the finish line? The photo is really cool! But for the sake of one shot... is it worth the risk? It's like a mountain river...
аватар mindguru
Yew? Mountain river?
Here is Latoritsa, for example ...
аватар mindguru
Not exactly Transcarpathia, of course, but I recommend driving to the Podgoretsky castle.

as for me, the Palanok castle in Mukachevo is much better and more interesting. There is a huge exposition of museums inside, and a beautiful view of the city opens from the castle. By the way, the most delicious espresso in Ukraine is brewed in Mukachevo. At least I think so. If you google the sights, you can climb in Mukachevo and its environs for 2 days. Restaurants and coffee houses - just fire. I recommend ordering bograch in Tsimbor. And in Molocharna to drink a milkshake or coffee drinks. In terms of quality and taste of coffee, Lviv smokes on the sidelines in comparison with Mukachevo and Uzhgorod. At least, on my own experience (and I drink 5-7 cups a day) I was convinced of this.
аватар Igor_m
Alexey1983, I completely agree - Bondarenko's coffee is the best, Palanok is the most beautiful, the Tsimbor restaurant (means friend, comrade) is the most colorful, especially the waitress. the most delicious bograch in the restaurant of the hotel "Palanok".
аватар Igor_m
Author, but about Uzhgorod to write?
аватар Alexey1983
yes, the waitress is a typical Ukrainian :) at least paint pictures
аватар mindguru
In Uzhgorod, coffee is not worse.
Igor_m, probably you should not duplicate information from Google.
аватар Igor_m
mindguru, Did I write something wrong? Or do you think that I was not there? And I learned about the waitress from "Cimbor" from Google? Do not make hasty conclusions, I know about Transcarpathia no less than Google, about Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine too - this is so, just in case, especially for you.
аватар mindguru
I don't know if you were in Podgortsy or not. Personally, I have been to almost all the castles of the Golden Ring and at one time on the South Coast, so there is something to compare with.
I meant that it hardly makes sense to post the full text of excursions on a tourist forum, as you did, even indicating where you need to turn onto another street. I have no doubt at all that you have been to the Tsimbor restaurant. Do you want me to briefly, for about forty minutes, tell you about my visits to Detsa at the Notary or the Bograch restaurant?
So don't attack people just because they have a different opinion.
аватар Igor_m
Mindguru, Google is a piece of iron with wires. Without people like you, me and many others who leave their reviews, stories on different sites, adding new places to Google maps (for example, I added a church and a hut in Lumshory), he would have remained a piece of iron. I never talk about what I don’t understand, haven’t seen, haven’t felt on myself, which I wish everyone.
аватар Igor_m
mindguru, wrote in detail to save time for the Author of the question. I didn’t throw myself at you, but you accused me of plagiarism, calling it a “different opinion”. Hi everybody !
аватар mindguru
Yes, it is"another opinion "! Let's be tolerant at least on this forum.
аватар olyajan
Mindguru, I apologize in advance, but let me disagree with you. For example, I really liked Igor's detailed answer. Sometimes you really don’t know where and which street to turn into, but here everything is so detailed. I, too, have been to all these places many times, but in Igor's comments I found something new for myself. The girls asked a question and received a very detailed answer. Igor_m, thanks for the info, I'll definitely use it.

Igor_m! If it won't be difficult for you, tell me the sightseeing objects with the departure from Truskavets. We are planning for 2 weeks in Truskavets, we have already been twice, so I want to see and taste something new. We have already more or less explored Lviv, were in Urych, Skhidnitsa, Dovbush Rocks, waterfalls on the Sukil River, Pochaev Lavra. Here we have not been to the castles (the golden horseshoe of the Lviv region), is it worth going? And what else can you advise in the vicinity of Truskavets? (I apologize to the Author that I got into someone else's forum, I just asked along the way). And I would advise the Author to see two more religious objects. This is in the city of Svalyava, the Mikhailovsky Church and in the village. Uklin Church of St. Peter and Paul, which is considered a rare architectural treasure.
аватар mindguru
So we went from Truskavets just to Podgortsy. Very beautiful castle!
And in general, all the castles of the "golden horseshoe" are worth seeing at least once in a lifetime.
True, I have never been to Pochaev. Big minus in karma.
аватар reginamaluta
From Truskavets you can go to Drogobych (it is very close) there are very interesting old churches (St. Yura), and you can also go to Sambir.
аватар mindguru
There is nothing interesting in Sambir.
In Truskavets itself there is a small Polish church (next to the House of Culture), which has a unique organ. For many years he has been restoring and maintaining the church at his own expense, playing the organ and reading his poems, Pan Stanislav. If you're lucky, just talk to him. A very interesting and enthusiastic person.

For Reginamaluta, we have already been to Drohobych, and also to Sambir. Mindguru, they were also in the church, they listened to the organ, and also listened to the poems of Pan Stanislav.

As you can see from the number of comments - you will not be bored in Transcarpathia. And this seems to be true. But, in my opinion, the real highlight will be the opportunity to take part in one of the rafting on catamarans from "On the Tisza together " It is on catamarans and not on rafts, which are designed for faster rivers than the Tisza.
In Latorica in the center of Mukachevo you can sign up for one of the free RAFTING SCHOOL, which they hold once or twice a week. (see swim calendar).
The most important thing is that all the swims will be accompanied by professional photography, and if desired, not bad treats with local dishes prepared on the fire.

Last year were, I want more :)

Charitable swim with our participation. Great team and unforgettable memories. Perhaps the best for all the years of stay in this wonderful land - Transcarpathia!
All the best predictions and hopes. Dreams Come True :)
