We are going to Sozopol in early August for the first time. Everything is interesting: how much does a day cost (food, beach, etc.)? What is worth seeing? Where to go? Where is it better to live in a private hotel or inn? Maybe there are some nuances? We want to invest 1500 euros with the flight. Thank you very much for the replies.

Hello. I have been to Sozopol 3 times. There is no particular difference in hotels, there are few large hotels in Sozopol. Sun loungers with an umbrella cost from 2.5 to 3 euros per day. The beaches are free. portions are very large. Fruits are better to buy at the local market - it's cheaper there than on layouts, the wine is very decent - about 3 euro bottles. a picnic on a yacht, and in Bata, of course, in Nessebar.

hello!
Have you already bought tickets? charter? charters are now 40 euros per person. if not, then run for tickets, otherwise they scared us that there would be no tickets for charters in August.
about hotels and the private sector, I agree - there is not much difference. If only there were no construction sites nearby. we liked the sheet 3*+. people praised the flagship and parnassus.
about entertainment, there is only one disco.
About the food, we always took only breakfast.

I don't even know if my answer is still relevant for you... We returned from Sozopol yesterday. At the expense of lunch for 30 euros for two - it's something cool. For three of us (husband, me and a 4-year-old daughter) we got no more than 30 leva. It's a little over 15 euros. And this does not mean at all that we are so economical. It's just that the portions there are too large and sometimes it makes sense to order one dish for all.
The mentioned "Villa List" is located in the center of the city. It's quite noisy there in August. "Parnassus" literally hangs over the sea - in windy weather this is a minus. From the "Flagman" it is far to stomp to the sea. In general, a lot of new 3-star hotels have appeared in Sozopol along the Harmani beach. You can choose one of them...
Regarding Bata - entertainment for an amateur. This place is called proudly - the Bulgarian village. But in fact - this is a tavern with a variety show, and of rather low quality. The main feature of all this is the Nestinar dances on coals. This spectacle is shown already in the final, so you will have to watch the rest of the dregs. :-)

We are going to Sozopol on August 13th. Vacationed there last year. The year before - in Sunny Beach. I liked Sozopol more, because. I was vacationing with my little daughter (it was 2 years old in 2007). The city is small, cozy, in an hour of slow walking you can go from new to old. The old part of the city is beautiful - with museums, cafes over the sea, old houses and streets ... We lived (we were 5 adults and a child) in a private villa, in the new part of the city, to the beach - 5 min. and 1 reb). Agreed for 35 euros for an apartment: 2 rooms, kitchen, toilet, shower (mountain water all the time), TV, air conditioning, balcony. Everything is clean and cozy. If you want, I will give you a phone.
There were no problems with food either. Fruits and vegetables were bought at the market (the prices were cheaper than at home! - I overate my favorite peaches and raspberries). Sometimes we bought food in the store (daughter wanted to cook something for children). We mostly ate in cafes. 5-10 euros was enough for one (depending on what you ordered). The portions there are really big. You can take 1 for two.

About the beach. We rested on the beach, which is smaller (in the bay). For a child, it’s just super, and for an adult, if you sail further, it’s also great. For 10 days, there were strong waves 1 time. Rescuers (well done guys! we even saved a girl in a storm, which was torn into the water). The beach is free, umbrellas and sun loungers are paid. But we bought umbrellas there (10-12 leva each), and sunbathed on our towels and mattresses (I can lie on the sofa at home, and hot soft sand .. .). At the same time, you spread your towel and put your umbrella where you want (even in front of the sun loungers, by the sea :). Up from the beach there is a park with children's swings and benches, where you can take a walk and relax in the shade.
We went on excursions to Bata, and on our own to the aqua park. I liked Bata. Maybe this is not for everyone, but for a change of rest .. (just relaxed, ate and drank deliciously, rested - for only 20 euros per person.). Aqua -the park especially pleased me (as a lover of extreme sports). We went to the aqua park, the one next to Sunny Beach (entrance from 14 to 19 - 20 levs). This year we want to go to the dolphinarium, on a boat trip with a picnic and , if possible, a walk along the Ropotamo River, where there are plantations of water lilies and insanely beautiful places. I also advise you to go to Nessebar.

There is somewhere to relax, if there is a desire! Bulgarians are good, friendly people. There are no problems with the language. Our native language is Ukrainian, we didn’t learn Russian, but we understand and speak. And the Bulgarians (especially the older generation) studied Russian in schools.
How much the rest will cost for one - it depends on where and how you will rest. We want to invest 400 euros for one + the cost of the selected excursions. We will go by bus (120 euros - travel and visa). But you need to have more money with you, a little...
If there is anything else you are interested in, please get in touch.
And have a nice holiday!

Last year I went to Sozopol by bus... It's terrible... For those who are taller than 1-60, I advise you to fly by plane... There is nowhere to put your knees, and this is a 30-hour trip!!!!! And the rest itself is wonderful, in September there are a lot of different festivals in Sozopol .. Well, there is something to photograph. Lived in an inexpensive hotel Aquamarine... Normal... Food is great !!!! This year in September - to Sozopol...Only by plane to Burgas !!!!
