We went to Sliven-Zheravna (inland of Bulgaria), Nessebar and Sozopol, also everyone goes to the Bulgarian village - this is a folklore evening with dinner and entertainment, also a good but expensive excursion to the Rose Valley, there is also an excursion to the island with a picnic (like a desert island called). I would not advise Istanbul, it is very tiring, but if you decide, then make a double visa, otherwise you won’t be able to.

Full day excursion, includes a visit to the tomb of the Thracian (Thracian) princess in Kazanlak, the rose museum, picking roses in the field, the Church of the Nativity in the village of Shipka, climbing the mountain, on Shipka itself there is a museum, but you need to pay extra for a ticket, finally, the Etar ethnographic museum . Second excursion: Varna (dolphinarium + independent walk around the city 30 minutes) and Aladzha monastery. Waste of money.

Shipka is closer from Sunny Beach, and Varna is the northern coast, it takes more than 2 hours to drive, it makes no sense from Sunny Beach. IMHO: it's easier to rent a car and visit everything you want. in 3 days you can go around the entire coast. we did just that, the savings are substantial.
