I advise the northern part - Varna and the region. Golden Sands, St. Konstantin and Elena, Albena
It is definitely worth a trip to see Veliko Tarnovo.
If you get to the time of the flowering of roses, I would go to the Rose Valley.
At the same time, you can climb Shipka ...

Solasen with demablagoev. Albena with children. If you do not want the influence of the post-Soviet space, go to St. Vlas. But there are ups and downs. But before you the sea, and behind the Balkans.

I look at booking a lot of apartments at great prices ... I wonder what the catch is ... because I have never used it before. Or does it make sense to go to a hotel?

If the location is the northern part of the sea coast, then be sure to go to Balchik, there is a wonderful Botanical Garden (wine tasting, a collection of cacti) and the palace of Queen Mary (you don’t need to live in Balchik itself, there is not a very good beach).
Well, if you are still further south, I advise you to visit Nessebar, you can also live there, the sea is ideal for children there, the beach of southern Nessebar has a gentle entrance to the water and the water is not very clogged with algae, unlike Sunny Beach. In this case, look for a hotel close to the South Beach of Nessebar.
Sozopol is also beautiful.

I booked accommodation through a travel agency. The price turned out to be more profitable than at booking and office. Hotel website. Nessebar yes..... Unforgettable, beautiful, cozy
аватар 86jjj
Yes, the prices for apartments on booking are good, we have rested like this more than once. Check out the reviews.
In Bulgaria, you can eat relatively inexpensively or cook yourself. For myself, I concluded that in Nessebar and Sozopol this is easier than in St. Konstantin and Elena, where there are only one or two good supermarkets and strained with cafes.
And first, look at the offers from travel agencies, sometimes the prices for a tour package are pleasantly surprising.

The blooming of roses is wonderful, but how the linden in Nessebar puffs in June - just to die ..
аватар irina_1901
It all depends on your wallet. I would take a hotel with 3 children for "all inclusive". This is more profitable, because children have big discounts, and in a cafe you will pay in full. Yes, maybe they won’t eat yet, then it’s money thrown away. Albena is expensive this year. They are getting rid of inexpensive hotels and building very expensive ones. I would still advise Sunny Beach, because hotels are cheaper. In particular, the Longoza 4 * hotel, it is not expensive, there are good family rooms and good food. If you can afford more, then take Tiara Beach, everyone will be satisfied.

I don’t want to take all inclusive for the reason that I don’t have to be tied to food ... I want to travel and see. And yes, children are not eaters at all :)

If you are going to go look at St. Vlas. Mountain air, view of Nessebar. The Soviet Union does not smell. There is a Mercury supermarket with an adequate price tag.

I would recommend St. Constantine and Helena, a very quiet place, close to thermal springs, a SPA Center was opened last summer, very close to Varna - you can take a bus, it's much easier. There is a 24-hour super market and an exchange office. The entrance to the sea is gently sloping - for the kids, that's it! Nearby is a chic pine forest, where you can take a walk in the evenings, inexpensive restaurants overlooking the sea.
аватар 86jjj
sergejkrivenkij7: Is the entrance to the water (St. Constantine and Helena) gentle? I would just say that it's pretty cool for kids. Only closer to the Sunny Day the entrance becomes gentle.
аватар Igor_m
St. Vlas, Sunny Beach, old Nessebar, Ravda, Pomorie - there is a normal rest and it is convenient to start an excursion.
аватар sergejkrivenkij7
if you go down to the beach from CHAYKA and go to the thermal spring, which is 20 meters, then to the left there will be a wide beach, that's where there is a very gentle entrance to the sea ... plus a free thermal spring, the pipe of which goes directly into the sea. There, the locals have arranged baths and everyone, on a first-come, first-served basis, takes thermal treatments.

sergejkrivenkij7: I know these places like the back of my hand. We dive there every summer. You are talking about the beach at the Azalea Hotel. I find that entry into the water pretty harsh for kids. Did you go before Sunny Day? That's where the gentle entrance for the little ones.
However, Azalea Beach has its own advantages for children: it dives very well there. Our six-year-old learned to dive well there this summer.
Of the minuses, with a large wave, the current pulls back into the sea, strongly.

Thank you all very much. And more... when is the best time to go? I think in the second half of June ... but I feel it will be cold.
аватар 86jjj
We have been swimming in Nessebar since June 8, with children. The water is not fresh milk, but not cold either. 22 °C approximately .. I won’t say about the northern coast in early June, I don’t know.
аватар Misterpipe
Last summer we rested from June 16 (St. Vlas). The water is warm and clean. Plus there aren't too many people. This year we will be traveling on the same dates.

And who is from Ukraine ... are there any nuances when crossing the border?
аватар Igor_m
There are "nuances" - an excellent road, no visas are needed, a biometric passport and money are needed.
аватар CharlyX
And what about prices? How much does lunch cost on average per person?
аватар Igor_m
rina_1901 always gives good advice, because Bulgaria is already, for sure, the third homeland for her. Prices in cafes and restaurants, for example, in Varna and Golden Sands differ almost twice (more expensive in RFP). My wife and I had enough 60-70 lev per day for two. Prices in stores are slightly higher than in Kiev. In a good restaurant (for example, in a fish restaurant in Nessebar) it can cost 150 lev at a time. Bulgaria is still not a foreign country, in the sense that everything is clear and everything is similar to us. Rummage through the questions and answers about Bulgaria - everything is there. Good luck!

In Nessebar, a portion of mussels 900g. 4.5€ in a supermarket (St. Vlas) two baked mackerels on the grill 90 UAH, for example.
аватар Misterpipe
Here is the Waterfalls restaurant for you. Beer, wine, brandy, salad, sach, horse mackerel about 35€. Which I think is a reasonable price.

"If you get to the time of the flowering of roses, I would go to the Valley of the Roses."
Tell me, when is the flowering period of roses in Bulgaria and where to find this valley of roses? I love roses, I would love to go.

To CharlyX:
We discussed where to eat tasty and inexpensive on the example of Nessebar: https://www.turpravda.com/bg/nesebr/question-62117.html#answer465742
Choosing a location in Bulgaria: https://www.turpravda.com/bg/question-76027.html#answer590892
If you want to eat tasty and inexpensive in St. Constantine, then this is in the restaurant at the Frederic Joliot-Curie 3 * hotel, it has a central location and can be seen from anywhere in the town (the tallest building is located between the post office and the monastery).
In Nessebar, the question of where to eat is not worth it at all, there are bathhouses and fast food at every step, good supermarkets, fruit shops, exchangers everywhere, and there are places to know, then restaurants are inexpensive.

Igor, welcome. I am not a frequent visitor to this site now, it is somehow inactive. If the author of the question does not want to become attached to food, then you need to decide how often they will leave. Probably not every day. I understand that they also need the sea. If they travel often. I advise you to take a cheaper hotel, just spend the night. If you still want to spend a lot of time at the hotel, then I repeat once again - "all inclusive". In any case, they will have breakfast and dinner at the hotel, if they miss lunch, then it's okay, it will not cost them dearly. If you just spend the night, then I advise you to look at the cheap Korona hotel with breakfasts in Sunny Beach (I have a review), and "all inclusive" on the days when they are sitting at the hotel, you can take it in the neighboring Tiara, 20 euros per day with adults, half children, infants free of charge. I think that the price is more than good, especially since it will be possible to use the slides, pool, bars and start right from breakfast ..

We usually go in the second half of August, sometimes in June, and July is a very hot month for us. It should be noted that from mid-July to August 23 is the most expensive period.

Hello Ira! I am glad to see you, I also rarely unsubscribe here, now everyone is obviously aggravated in anticipation of rest, incl. and to me.
CharlyX, take your money, children, wives and go boldly.

Yes, Rose Valley!!! You will find yourself in the very beauty in early-mid June, when you go (by all means) to Veliko Tarnovo. From Burgas on the motorway you will quickly reach Staraya Zagora, go to the right to Kazanlak, near which this valley is located. Then further to Shipka, Gabrovo and V.Tyrnovo. The day is enough, but you will leave at six in the morning to see more. I was there twice and each time in July-August - bad luck, but there are roses from the valley, they are very dry, it's time to renew. Still - you can look into the Dryanovo Monastery, also on the way beyond Gabrovo.
