Flying to Cuba with Aeroflot

There are no direct flights from St. Petersburg now, so we have to fly through Moscow. From Pulkovo we arrive at Sheremetyevo / terminal D / and from the same terminal we fly to Havana. Our TO assures that Aeroflot has canceled such a system as checking luggage to the final destination / in our case, from St. Petersburg directly to Havana /. They say that upon arrival in Moscow, we must first receive luggage and only then go to the departure area to check in for a flight to Havana, where, in fact, the same luggage is already checked in there again. And such the same system will be when we fly back. Please share your opinions with those who have recently flown with Aeroflot. Thanks in advance
