From my travel experience, I know that one of the most pressing problems is stomach upset. Not that severe poisoning, but there is discomfort due to the transition to new water and food. Instead of activated charcoal, I highly recommend Enterosgel (paste in a tube, NOT sweet). Much more efficient and modern than coal!
