Hello! I would like to know about tips, as we are going to Turkey with my husband for the first time. Is it necessary to give money? - upon check-in, so that there is a normal room (in the reviews, many write that they did not give it and everything was OK); - for daily cleaning of the room (acquaintances left every day, but someone's hair and a cigarette butt near the bed lay until the end of the holiday); - bartenders, waiters, minibus drivers, etc. In general, to WHOM and HOW MUCH to tip, so as not to spoil your vacation? Thank you all in advance!

We were in Turkey last year. At first, they didn’t know what to give to whom. Now I can advise you: - upon check-in, it is desirable to give 10 c.u. - the number will be much better than the one that you will be offered initially. Still, don’t say anything, but it’s more pleasant to wake up in a room overlooking not a Turkish trash can, but a beach or a pool; -we did not leave for cleaning, although sometimes you can 1 c.u. leave, they will make you a flower or a swan out of towels; - bartend ... They always left 1 dollar for cleaning, and if they didn’t make figures, they stopped leaving them at all ... It was like they took money, but they didn’t notice the cleaning ... It all depends on the attitude and attention of the staff to you, like it - leave it, don’t like it - no .... In bars - depending on how you drink. To be remembered for the subsequent service "out of turn" and "with soul", a couple of times you can leave for a dollar. And in principle, you can not leave at all. Farther...

tipping is essentially a manifestation of gratitude and attention to the service staff, which doesn’t really hit your pocket, so why not?) and someone in your homeland takes all the pennies from the bill for dinner - it’s a matter of principle approach - to leave or not to leave)) ) Farther...
Already often traveled to different hotels in Turkey and Egypt, they always left a tip of $ 1-2. But we are going to such a hotel for the first time, we are interested in how much to leave a tip for the luggage that will be brought to the room, how much to leave at the bar, cleaning, or somewhere else so as not to offend the staff. Interested in the amount and where to leave. Share your experience in hotels of this level.

Tipping in Turkey is solely at the discretion of the client, when they really provided a great service. I don’t think that rolling my chumadan to the room is a cool job, I left a tip to the porter only once in my life, but there he really dragged two suitcases on himself about three hundred meters to the house 300 meters, because the path was dirty, he didn’t want suitcases in smear the dirt. In restaurants, if the food is very tasty, 5-15% of the bill. Farther...
We are not rich people, but we want to relax in the ricos. Does the staff differentiate between the rich and the middle class? How to behave with staff?

I agree with Pachok, there is an opportunity to go to one of the decent hotels, great! The mistake of some of our compatriots is that no one - no one - owes anything. This is an axiom. Yes, we pay a lot of money, from our point of view, but many do not think about who got what part of it: - to the air carrier (depends on the distance); - hotel; - to the seller (TO, TA). Sometimes the amount of the hotel is simply ridiculous, spreading it out into days it immediately becomes clear - why am ... Farther...
To what extent is it worth paying extra at the reception to get a good room with a sea view? And how much do you need to leave a tip in the room, so that the towels would be beautifully folded, cleaned better and smiled? :)

We gave in this hotel 20 dollars for a room with a sea view and a dollar for cleaning. But then they left with difficulty: they didn’t want to let us out until we paid $ 80 for the allegedly broken door by us. We did not break it, it was like this before moving in. They could not prove their innocence, since the bus had already arrived for us and the guide could not wait for our clarifications. But upon arrival, we immediately wrote a complaint to our travel agency. The travel agency turned to t ... Farther...
